San Francisco Hermes Store

Dear TPFers in bay area, may I ask your opinion? I have been shopping in Hermes San Francisco store for almost two years. And I have been spending crazy amount of money and only offered a Constance 18 bag and a mini Kelly bag. I've been seriously thinking if I should transfer my profile to Las Vegas or other stores outside of bay area? My friend who is shopping in New York area, always gets great bags without spending too much. This drives me nuts. I know that the competition is very fierce in bay area, but I wouldn't expect spending so much (over 1:1.5 ratio in non-leather goods)... What are your experiences in bay area Hermes stores? How much do you normally spend before being offered a bag? Any experiences of Las Vegas or Hawaii stores? Any experiences of transfering profiles to other stores? Thank you so much!
You can’t “transfer your profile” to a different store. Instead you’d be starting all over from scratch AND would likely have to go the extra mile to prove that the new store is truly where your loyalty lies as vacation spots are used to ‘drivethrough’ ‘take my shot’ shoppers. The fact that you’ve been offered a mini kelly would honestly make me vow my loyalty to that store forever as they are currently the most difficult to have offered. I assume you did not take the mini kelly? If you took the mini kelly then the spending seems perfectly reasonable, even low. Have you been clear with your SA about what you are looking for? Is it crazy specific or perhaps a color not in current production? If I were you, I’d try at least a few more times by making an appointment, spending very little ($500-1000) and make my wishlist very clear. Ask something like “I’d really like to get an X soon. Do you think that might be possible before Christmas or should I try another store in case someone else has one?”

I took the mini Kelly. But the pre-spending ratio is over 1:2 in non-leather goods. My SA told me that because I waited for a year and half without any bags, she offered me this. From my friends' experiences, the ratio of over 1:2 is pretty crazy in US to get a mini Kelly, and considering the time that I waited for. After I got the mini Kelly, I told her that I would like to get the last quota bag before the end of this year and I did tell her exactly what I wanted. She just simply said that we could try our lucks and she couldn't guarantee. I've been making frequent trips to my local store ever since, and every trip I spent over $2k in non-leather goods. And up to now, I've been spending over 1:1 ratio, and there is nothing about my wishlist. With the competition in my store, I don't know how much I should spend to get my dream bag... I've heard that the pre-spending Las Vegas store is much less, and SA will hint what kind of bags you will be getting. But here in my local store, no chance of knowing what to get and when to get even if I spend like crazy... Should I keep spending more? Or should I stop? Kinda torn here...

Just curious but what does your wishlist look like? It could be that if you loosen the criteria to roll the "surprise me" button you'll get something given the timeline but if the criteria is that you want something exactly (leather, color, size, etc) she's just not clear if that will come in by the end of the year. My understanding is that they don't always know precisely what they'll get until it arrives (and I heard that is much more so this year due to the state of the world).

Yes, a neutral K25 is very in demand these days. I’m not sure who your friends are but 1:2 spending for a mini kelly (especially since it’s the cheapest quota bag) is insanely low, imo. I’ve been with my (Vegas) store three years, have a healthy profile, spend every month and have never even heard a whisper about a mini K (or KP for that matter) even though I ask constantly (and I’ve placed four SOs with them so I dont think its a profile/relationship issue). I’d stay put where you are and keep asking for status. “Squeaky wheel“ and all that. Vegas is a bit easier for those looking for 35s or large exotics. Smaller sizes in non exotic leather are as difficult as anywhere else, if not more difficult, in my experience.

Thank you! My friends in New York area always get bags, even the mini Kelly bags, for 1:1 ratio at most. I guess New York stores have a lot more stock than the rest of the stores in US. But for me, traveling to New York to create a new account is not possible. Now that you said Las Vegas stores are not easy to get smaller bags, I might just stick to my local store even though it's very frustrating...

That does sound super frustrating but I have faith, if you keep asking, they’ll come through. They’ll likely have increased stock as we close the year as well. As to the NY friends...Those experiences, especially on a regular reliable basis, don’t sound right to me and aren’t often echoed here on the forum or in the H groups that I observe. I assume these are actual real life friends and not just faces on social media because what is common is for people to ”front” or allude to just “how easy” it was for them in particular...not accusing anybody, and rare luck does happen once in a great while...but if you aren’t there to view their profile/receipts...grain of salt...

When did you purchase the Mini K?
Since you already got a quota bag this year, you might need to wait in line after other long standing clients.

Also, if your SA is off on the day that the bags are allotted from the shipment, then they would not be able to fight for you.

It’s very easy to go down a rabbit hole of dark thoughts comparing your situation to others. For every story you hear and read about someone getting insanely lucky and getting their dream bag with no prior/little spend there are equally other stories of people spending $$$$ without a single offer.

The mini craze has really made those smaller sized bags a hot commodity; couple that with wanting neutral colors it can make your requests harder to fulfill perhaps. Maybe slow down the spending, possibly open the color/size/leather up a bit more so there’s more potential for them to have something to offer. Only you can truly tell whether your SA is really working with you or simply working you.

Hopefully some outside perspective gives you some clarity, I think it would suck to abandon an established relationship and basically start a brand new profile elsewhere.

Yeah I guess it would be not wise to abandon my current profile and start a new one. I would make even more frequent visits/purchases just to make sure that I don't waste my quota this year...

Congrats! My SA just simply said Kelly Pochette was not possible. I guess it is only reserved for VIPs or VVIPs? The fact that I was not even invited to any of Hermes events proved that I was definitely not spending that much to be an important client... I'm sad... Just out of curiosity, how do you get invited to those events? Thank you!

I was shocked to be invited yesterday, as I’m fairly new in my H journey, but there I was!!! I was offered my FIRST quota bag, B30 Noir in Epsom leather, PHW.... and I spent most of my appointment time going back and forth on taking the bag or not. I really wanted the leather to be Togo :oh: My SA told me there is one lady who had been waiting 6 years for a B25 in Noir Togo!!!!! Anyway I ended up not taking it.. and I told her I will wait for her. I felt terrible

My SA was so patient with me and so sweet! I had a great time anyway, and I’m still buzzing about being offered one and holding it in my hands...

Saw a lady being offered a Kelly Pochette which looked lovely! Ended up buying a Pair of Orans and a pair of Paris loafers and a rose mexico PM rodeo  overall happy but torn bc I didn’t come home with the birkin.

fully enjoyed the chocolates and champagne and this cute DIY bagcharm!

Do you want to be invited to an event to spend even more $$$ on clothing/watches? Then just let your SA know. They will definitely make it happen.
