Rude holiday shoppers.

Shopping is suppose to be fun after all, not stressful.

So today, I go to a store like a Marshalls and a Ross. It's suuuuuper cheap, and these gifts I were getting people were the people I felt obligated to get stuff for. No need to go to Macy's for them. So of course, the store was busy busy busy and messy messy messy!! But I try to be in a good mood. I call my Aunt and chat with her as I browse around. Whenever I shop I try to tend to stay on the right side of the aisle (like the freeways are!) and I just expect the other person coming against my traffic to stay to the right. Well, I go to the right because I see someone coming towards me, and she says something to me all rude like. But I didn't really hear it because I was on the phone and busy trying to dodge her by moving to the side and not stepping on the merchandise on the floor. I turn around and she's mugging me. I didn't even get it, I didn't touch her!! I say, "Sorry if I hit you." But then I realized, I didn't even go near her! She's just mugging!! I'm thinking, "Why do you bother to make rude comments when someone is trying to move already??" I mean people lightly nudge each other all the time when going through aisles and I find that acceptable, but I didn't even touch her! I was already out of the freakin aisle!! :cursing:
Please do not take this as an insult, but my pet peeve is people who are talking on the phone when they should be paying attention. When you're on the phone, you're in your own world. Especially at the cash register. They hold things up because they are talking and don't have full use of their hands.

You said you couldn't hear what she as saying... maybe she was pissed off that she spoke to you but you didn't respond.

I agree with you about rude holiday shoppers though. I try to stay out of the stores around this time of the year.

ooooo don't even get my started on rude shoppers. I work at the only Best Buy for almost 40 miles (and in some directions, 150+ miles), and this is my 3rd holiday season with them. Best Buy recently started a message board on our intranet system for employees, and there's a thread 30 pages long about horrible customers.

you wouldn't believe some of the stories - workers have been shot at, groped, and one had a camera thrown at him by a nun in full nun garb. one of the girls in my store had a customer that was mad at her try and RUN HER OVER in the parking lot on CHRISTMAS EVE last year. we actually had a man arrested and escorted out of the store last year for physically threatening one of my managers (ALSO ON CHRISTMAS EVE). our store phone operator gets told DAILY that he's a terrible person and ruining some kid's christmas because we don't have any Wiis.

so yeah, it's rude when people jostle you to get by, but at least you're not being shot at or run down.

Not just woman annoy me but kids too.
The other day I was in The Body Shop, a kid walked past me, pushed my sister out the way and knocked down a whole box of make-up brushes that my sister was looking at. So my sister kindly bends down to pick them up and the kid walked right past with her mum and started to laugh at my sister picking the stuff the kid dropped!
Grrrr!:cursing:
Why take kids shopping!? Leave them at home with your SO!! ;)

And the car-parking thing bugs me too. AND when theres like a santas grotto in the mall, theres NO way you can get past the whole crowd of people waiting to see santa, and when you say excuse me, people still don't move!! And its not even kids, its freakin' adults with no kids taking pictures of santa! wtf?!:confused1:

I'm not being a scrooge btw, I'm just so impatient lol!

LMFAO @ the boxes! I have my way of sweet talking the SA to get more than one! "Aww, I love your hair!" Then when I ask for boxes I JOKINGLY say something like, "Ya know, I could use more than one, do you think your manager will chase me down and tackle me if I try to convince you to give me an extra box?" haha, it works EVERY time!
Its even easier with the Male SA's:graucho: loL!

Lmao! :roflmfao: I'm gonna try this the next time I want another box lol!

OMG, Amanda! Do people check their brains at the entrance?

A few days ago I was ready to check out at one of the few open lanes in the store, and a woman with empty cart coming into the store was entering thru this lane, and decided to stop and peruse the tabloids in the racks! Hello! It's a check-out lane, you're going the wrong direction, and there are about 15 other lanes with the same magazines, and I want to check out! I said "excuse me" and she gave me a dirty look and moved the minimum to let me through.

Then it's stupid stuff like groups of people that stop and chat in the middle of an aisle blocking everyone else. Hold your family reunion someplace else, please.

It helps to let off steam here rather than cross-check some of these dolts.

yeah, people don't use their logic a whole lot. obviously it's OUR fault that there are no Wiis. because WE are the ones putting them together in the factory behind the store.

When I worked at target the CS women lasted an average of 3 months, a couple of them even had nervous breakdowns from the stress. My friend works in Merch for Best Buy so she doesn't have to deal with customers too often now compared to when she was an LP. Yesterday she was stocking a shelf and a woman asked her what some cables did and she said she didn't know cause she was merch then directed her to a worker in that department. The woman began saying really mean things about how she shouldn't leave the back rooms if she didn't know anything and that she should be fired. She puts up with insanity like this a lot.

(sorry for the hijack) but what about the rude sales associates??? all I wanted was a box! humph!

I was at Banana Republic last night and this nice lady in her late 20's early 30's was trying to change a discount code that she applied on her purchase to a higher one (I think she used 10% when she bought the stuff but then realized she had a 20% off or something like that) She proceeded to explaining to the BR sales rep that she called their customer service line and they had instructed her to come in to the store and the store would be able to adjust her discount....

WELL, the associate asked for a manager who came running around the corner and when she was told what this lady wanted she quickly and rudely explained to the associate how to do this discount and then announced loudly something to the effect of "Well, we'll have to hold up THIS LINE here just to do this for you" and STOMPED away

Meanwhile the customer was left all apologetic and telling the associate she really didn't want to hold up the line and the associate just smiled and didn't even say anything

another sales person came from around to guide us all into a different set of registers, it was all a big production and as i was walking away (they basically made me cuz i was the next one in line) I just told the customer lady that I wouldn't have minded waiting and smiled to make her feel a bit better

How embarrassing is that??

The manager was just so rude, i almost wish I was in the lady's shoes so that I could've told the manager off, there was no need for her to embarrass this lady!

the stories from my store are generally not nearly as bad as the stories from stores around big cities. we're in a college town in an area that is otherwise rural (about 60 miles from Atlanta), and people are mostly friendly and patient (this may also be a reflection of the fact that we're in the South). every now and then, though, we get a freakin' psycho. we had to have the police escort out a family of tweaked-out meth addicts the last time i was in.

Remind me never to go to the mall on a Saturday night during peak season shopping hours and during the holidays! It was so packed! I was trying to find parking and was just about to pull in when a car on the opposite side raced over to my parking spot and pulled in. The reason that they were able to pull in before me was because the car pulling out of the parking space was blocking my entrance (not their fault). I was irked to say the least but it wasn't worth getting too mad over it, I did find another space relatively quickly even though the parking lot was full! I usually do my shopping during those hours that aren't as busy... it really is a much nicer shopping experience, not a lot of lines, not crowded, not a lot of rude people, the SA's are much nicer to deal with and it really is much more pleasant experience! And thankfully this year I've already gotten most of my holiday shopping out of the way!

OMG i totally know where you are coming from!!
Last week i went shopping for my birthday dress, i was in this one shop and this woman actually pushed me out of the way and grabbed this dress. I sware its a good job i was in flats because I would have gone flying!!

I tried a different shop and it was like 100 degrees in there, walked out straight away. I then went to selfridges, picked up one dress, tried it on and it was perfect.
I did have to wait 10minutes for the changing room though!

Ahhh and i went into a jewelers in the city, i need to get lots of things fixed!
Me: Hi there, do you have a service where you put safety chains on bracelets?
SA: EH No, were busy at this time of year, dont you know!
Me: Oh ok, so you don't do at all
SA: I just told you no, NOT UNTIL JANUARY.
Me: Ok, thank you anyway bye.

Stupid woman just walked off no bye or anything!! Ahhh I could have chucked my big bag at her ugly head!! It drives me insane!

Its weird though, i am comstantly told i look 16 when i am actually 20, i get treated like crap by SAs when im on my own but when im with my 24yr old big bf, oh then its totally different?! I dont get it!!

I just do not have the patience for people in the month of December so I chose to do whatever shopping I can online. I think that people get a bit freaky during the holidays!
