I had this same thing happen to me not to long ago. I put in a claim with the seller on ebay and it showed the package was delievered but it had the wrong zip code which was not close to my address and I got my money back. The seller did not give me my money back until ebay told them to. You can always try that route becuase it was delievered to the wrong address since your zip code is not on it.

Hi Everyone- Update

Went back to the post office today. Spoke to supervisor this time. My regular mailman was not working that day and his route had been split up amongst 5 different carriers. He has already spoken to 2 but had not spoken to the other 3. He is going to and then call me tomorrow to let me know what he found out.

Im not hoping for anything, because how can they really remember anything regarding what they delivered days ago on a route they're not even familiar with?

Anyways, that's what's happening now..... :(

It's funny, but they do remember. I have had this sort of thing happen to me more than once. I am hoping for the best.

Another update: The supervisor called me. He said he spoke to 4/5 and is waiting for 1 more. None of them delivered a package to this address and they were sure of that. He also said someone else called about a missing package from my address (4 tenants live here). I said the landlord was around that day so I would find it hard to believe that a stranger came past the main door into the foyer and where the mailboxes are. He is going to call me back tomorrow once he hears from the last mail carrier.

Well, it's official. The last mail carrier clearly remembers delivering the package, and clearly remembers it no longer being there when he finished the route. Someone definitely stole it and since it was stolen in a short period of time, while the landlord was around the apartment, I can only assume it was another tenant. He would've inquired if someone else came through the building and took mail.

So, I hope whoever stole it, is enjoying my Sabrina.

I'm so sorry. :( I'd put up flyers alerting other tenets to the goings-on if they are not aware. Will the landlord let you do that? I'd also be checking Craigslist or even eBay for local listings. I wonder if the landlord or the building owners will adopt a more secure means of delivery for you and the other residents.
I'm officially cursing the thief to a lifetime of bad luck. Karma will get them in the end.

Please ask the other tenants if they might have mistakenly picked up your package along with their own mail? It's possible, and if someone did they might feel regret that you're asking them to give it back.

I hope this isn't the end of the story for you & Sabrina...

Make a police report. Put up flyers all around with a big picture of the bag. If they see it and worry and know they can't carry it in the area without people knowing it is yours, they might return it. And, if you put on the note that someone is stealing packages, the person who makes a big deal of "who would do that" and "I just can't believe that would happen" and fawns too much is the person who did it. Go door to door to ask for it, put some pressure on whoever has it. The lawyer in me is taking over....now I'm angry for you and ready to investigate!

Oh no! I'm so sorry! Definitely ask your neighbors if they made a mistake. Even if they did intentionally take it they may panic enough to give it back with a likely story at some point. Who cares? She's home! You can also see if the credit card company will refund you with a police report and at least you won't be out the money if there was no insurance. I feel so bad! What is it with people? :(
