Rose Gold Sadness. Tracking shows delivered. It is not here. :( ++

I was hoping to pop back in here and learn the bag was found. What an unfortunate outcome. Whoever took the bag probably does not appreciate how rare a find it is either. Curse them!
Totally agree. I think everyone here empathizes with fashionista. We really feel bad for her, angry at the damn perpetrator, and hopeful that eventually there will be a happy ending.

Nope :(

In the middle of a paypal/chargeback dispute now. I know it's not the seller's fault, but I needed some method to recoup my money. My credit card has refunded me and I think Paypal will rule in her favor because tracking shows delivered.

I am not sure what happens next.

Did the Paypal dispute automatically open when you did a chargeback with your cc or did you file with both? I hope the seller doesn't get charged, like others said it was definitely not their fault. I've heard that ebay almost always rules in the buyers favor, but hopefully Paypal just eats this one and doesn't take the money from the seller, but its kind of scary how easy it is to get your money back. Even with delivery confirmation someone could say they never received it and get their money back pretty easily (not saying op did this, just making a generalization). I guess it puts my mind at ease as a buyer and worries me as a seller!

As long as the seller has proof of delivery, seller will not be charged. The credit card should reverse the charge due to theft. They might want a police report, though.

This is such an awful thread.. I too came in to hopefully read some good news..

Sooo sorry to hear about your bag.. gives you such a nasty and violated feeling when something gets stolen right off your porch or mailbox.

Trust me, it can be hard not to want to blame your neighbors, but its really not likely to be them as easy as it seems for them to do. People actually go through neighborhoods and look for packages on porches, in broad daylight. Some even follow UPS trucks into nicer neighborhoods, like they do here, every Christmas. Recently had a necklace stolen from me, said delivered but wasn't there. Next day there was an open box on my porch, with my mail and magazines inside it.

We have since put a camera up.

Here's to Justice being served. I hope whoever stole it gets caught, and you get to enjoy your bag

Why should the seller be responsible....or even the postal service? The item was delivered and it seems it was the fault of the building management that it was stolen. The building does not have a secure way to insure packages are safe until the owner picks them up. Definitely not the seller's fault or responsiblity......or the USPS.

Oh, and may karma come by and bite the thief in the butt for stealing your bag!
I agree. It's awful that it was stolen but taking money back from a seller who no longer has her bag is not the honest thing to do, she completed the transaction as she should have. Sometimes things happen that suck and that's just life, making someone else pay for it is not the answer.

eBay does rule against the seller most often which is why only clothes of mine go on ebay. Thankfully I live in a very nice area of town and we have several exclusive resell boutiques here, that's where my LVs and Chanel's go when I'm done with them. Upfront, cash transactions.

A Paypal dispute opened automatically when I did a chargeback. I would not file twice to try to scam anyone and make money. I know it is not the seller's fault, but it is not my fault either. I didn't open a case with eBay either. I only called my credit card company.

I think most credit card companies provide automatic protection for things that were stolen. I wish I had known this when I had new Coach items stolen out of my car. I thought the credit card companies had insurance for this, and didn't try to collect from the merchant. I wonder if they only did it because it is paypal. Or if they just go through the motions and paypal won't get stuck with it.

I'm glad you got your money back. I'm always so worried that something won't make it to me since it already happened once. I feel much better buying online if I know the credit card company will reimburse me.

Some day you'll find your perfect rose gold bag.

Sorry - I didn't mean to imply you were doing anything you shouldn't be doing, I was just wondering what the process was for future reference what happens when you do a chargeback if your cc told you to file with PayPal also or if it happens automatically. I agree its a bad situation all around, but that person who stole it will get what's coming to them. I guess if PayPal finds against the seller they might be able to get the insurance, although others have posted they shouldn't find against the seller. I just started selling again so I just want to keep myself informed of what can happen.

As a seller myself, I am curious too. I read the paypal terms and it says clearly, that if you have proof of delivery through a confirmation number, they won't side with the buyer, so I really will be shocked if they do side with me. My credit card refunded me a long time ago, as part of their own policy.

I've been following this thread, and wanted to say that I'm so sorry this happened to you, especially with such a special bag! I don't know if it would help, but I'd file on the insurance or have the seller file if she hasn't already, it seems to me this is the type of situation where the insurance should apply -- it's not like you signed for the package, and essentially it was stolen in transit. Maybe worth a try ... I hope you can find another bag like this before too long.

Most likely your credit card company will be the ones paying for it. I'm still so sorry this happened to you. Have you gotten your new Sophia yet? I hope you love her.
