Rose gold hardware hermes bag

I have a 30B in RGHW and I just wipe it was a soft cloth when I notice any tarnishing. I think it's the cloth that came in the cleaning kit when I purchased a watch from a different brand. Nothing special. That said I notice more tarnishing on my RGHW CDC, than on any of the bag hardware. So maybe just keep an eye on it.
Thank you so much!

Hi!

I have two clic H bracelets that were originally bought as rose gold. Got them both last year. Picked up a new rg clic bracelet (leopard design, which I LOVE), and I noticed that my two older ones are gold, in comparison. Compared those two bracelets to my gold kelly belt, and they definitely match the gold finish of my kelly belt.

Is there anything Hermes can do to restore the rose gold, or should I just try a jeweler? Thank you!

Please read the previous page. This has been discussed quite a bit on this thread. ;)

If you could link it to me, I’d appreciate it. Did a search too on the whole forum and wasn’t able to find a thread/comment with my concerns being discussed.

My question is about the bracelets, which I don’t think anyone has asked before on this site. If anyone knows the answer, kindly let me know, thanks!

Does anyone have experience with rose gold clic H bracelets turning gold? If “yes,” please advise.

Thanks!
Your best first step would be to try the tarnish polishing cloths that have been mentioned as helpful earlier in this thread. Clic H bracelets are fashion jewelry so I’m not sure what could be done beyond that and if it would actually be worth it. Perhaps they could be “dipped” to re-plate the rose gold plating but I would imagine doing so via the H spa would cost nearly as much/more than just buying new ones. If I had this concern, I would take the bracelets into my H SA and get their opinion and then go from there.

Dear TPFers,
I just noticed that my RGHW Birkin (which has been kept unused) has more pinkish hardware on the keys than the rest of the hardwares. Is this the same with all your bags? I am kind of freaking out. Please help.

*In the attached photo you can clearly see that the keys are more pinkish than the lock.*

I'm not going to be too much help but.....I had a beautiful constance with rose gold hardware that I adored. I'm very particular with my bags, storing them properly, using them properly etc...One day I went to use her and noticed that the hardware had what looked like tarnishing on it in places... i was distressed so i immediately took it to my sa who sent it off to Paris. Never saw her again and was given a credit - no explanations....It's not the first time I have heard a story like this. Needless to say I have no desire for rose gold now.....
Happy Holidays

Same here. I notice two things about rose gold:
-the exposed hardware turns more to yellow gold in time
-and it tarnishes on the edges
For these reasons I will never do rose gold again. It’s too high maintenance for me.

Ahhh the keys were inside the clochette the whole time, maybe that's why they look more pink than the rest now. I live in a tropical area, that might have contributed in the yellowing of the rest of the hardwares.

I was just going to post about this. If they were stored in the clochette they would oxidize at a different rate. FWIW it's hardly noticeable, even more so if they are going to continue to be stored inside the clochette

yes the rose gold hardware on the birkin will turn slightly yellow overtime, also I have started noticing mine, the pearls of the turn lock plate get darkened much quicker than the regular gold hardware. Thats when I rehomed the birkin (it was only just over 12 months old) as I worry it will be high maintenance over time, and I don't live in a humid climate.

nb - Mine was a etain RGHW b25

It’s very true that Hermès rose gold becomes yellow gold as it ages. 2E08AB5D-8194-46BA-8E99-5073476435C4.pngHere is a photo of my rose gold birkin fresh from the store 2/3 years ago with a yellow gold breloque charm.4A8E00FC-9191-4D0B-BF7E-BEC15E18413C.jpeghere is the Birkin today next to my noir kelly with gold hardware. They’re practically the same tone now. Because of this, I tell people who ask about Hermès rose gold to accept the fact it May not stay pink forever. It’s still cute though so if it doesn’t bother you, I’m sure it would be okay!
