For me, no I don't agree with that statement. None of my bags have changed to gold.
All I did was clean the hardware with a cloth very gently and they are just like new. Even my newer birkin (etain) had a bit of oxidation on the corners of the faceplate and it wiped right off.

Not 2017, not newer... none of my bags changed to gold or faded. All are bright and shiny Rose Gold.

As far the use of the word "issues" goes... I don't know what that means exactly. If oxidation is an issue, then my bags all had that issue over time. I do live in a very humid area so maybe that had something to do with it as well. But like I said, the Constances hardware was quite hazy/dirty and it wiped right off with no change to the hardware being rose gold.

If others would like to chime in with their experiences, that would be great. I'm just sharing my experience as I was concerned bc before I cleaned the hardware with the cloth, the hardware looked different, especially on the Constances.

Thanks for your input! I'm glad to hear that your RGHW hasn't faded. By "issues" I meant the whole RGHW fading to GHW, oxidization, etc. but you are correct in that oxidization can also happen to GHW not just RGHW. I also live in a very hot and humid climate so I was worrying about this as well.

I’m beyond sad. I just pickup my bag from the boutique after craftsmen claimed they have cared for my bag with the utmost caution. It’s all scratched up.
I feel like is worse than before

I’m not sure if it’s light reflection in the photo but it definitely looks worse than before, especially around the screw heads (or whatever they are). Did they charge you? Did they think they did a good job?

The cleaning was free. The after sales didnt recommend to have the hardware replaced but I insisted. She said it won’t be the same after I replaced the hardwares. Now another 3 to 4 months wait till my bag comes back.

I'm curious as to what she meant when she said "it won't be the same after the hardware is replaced"? I would think that given it would be serviced by H that there would be no difference in the replacement hardware vs the original. What am I missing? The reason I ask and am concerned is that I have a B30 with RGHW that one of the screws has always had a sharp point on it. It even snagged a twilly once. I was thinking of sending it in but this scares me to be honest. So sorry this happened to you :(

OP meant, ‘the cleaning was free but the hw replacement won’t be the same ( ie also free)’

Hi all!

I'm planning on my next B/K and thinking of getting one with RGHW.
A few concerns:
  • Heard from many in the IG community that RGHW tarnishes
  • My personal experience with Hermes RGHW is on a Clic H wallet, it tarnished very quickly from the time I bought it (my SA gave me a silver polishing cloth but it didn't work. a few ladies used a Tiffany & Co. one and it worked to remove the tarnish apparently!)
I was hoping to hear from all of you here, in case have experiences / advice on Hermes' RGHW!
Any thoughts?

Thank you!
You'll be able to read quite a few member's varying experience with rghw starting from this post. :)
