Here is my b30 with rghw. As u can see the hardwares are oxidized:sad: and still have the marks from the protective stickers (I have removed the stickers when I first got my bag). don’t know what to do now.

Other than a polishing cloth, I’m not sure what to say about the sangle, but double check that there isn’t another sticker on the hardware piece with the turnlock on the front of the bag.

Good luck! (It reallllllly looks like there is still a second sticker on the large hw piece and I’ve had multi layer stickers on my H bags recently...)

Thought this was interesting to share from a quick search on “Hermes permabrass” (not sure if this was shared already but this text was on an Hermes page that describes the hardware process on exotic leather. I doubt its any different on regular leathers):

The metal pieces – plates, clasps, padlocks, locks, studs, buckles – known as ‘hardware’ in the world of leather goods, are for the most part exclusive to Hermes. They are usually made of brass, polished by hand, and plated with fine gold, palladium or permabrass.

Hi ladies! Sorry it took me so long to write back regarding rose gold on my bags. I have two C24 with RGHW and now I have 2 B25 too.
The C24 are both from 2017 and the 2 Bs are 2019/2020. So at first I was very upset when I examined the C's. Both appeared to be oxidized, spotty (see pic of Trench Constance where strap is attached), hazy and when I compared the H plate to a yellow gold H belt buckle I own... well they all looked yellow gold.

I was pissed! I hadn't really examined them that close in a long time.

Then I grabbed my new Birkins and of course the hardware looks rose gold and shiny. However, I noticed on my Etain (which I have had for 9 months), I noticed slight oxidation on the faceplate corners. The sticker is removed so I was confused and got even more upset & was about to call my SA but I realized the boutique is closed.

Anyway, I got a polishing cloth to clean the hardwares so I could see better on the Trench Constance because there were a lot of smudges. Low and behold... after about 15 seconds ROSE GOLD HARDWARE appeared again. It was like MAGIC! I grabbed the Noir Constance and the same thing happened. It's ROSE again. CLEARLY ROSE! The haze over the top of the hardware was removed and the glow came right out! Again, same thing with the faceplate on my birkin. I put the yellow gold H buckle next to my Constance and I was so happy!

I'm sorry I didn't capture before pics of the H on my Constances but in my rage, I totally forgot. I did however get after pics. Also, I did get before pic of the spotty hardware on my Trench C and so you can see it looked CRAZY and now it looks PERFECT. It took 3 rubs... Also pics of yellow gold buckle next to the rose gold buckles... You can really see the difference now.... I hope this helps! My favorite hardware is rose gold so I’m very happy this only requires a cleaning and poof! All better!

Which polishing cloth do you use?

Phew! What a relief! So glad the beautiful rosegold came back!

I was starting to worry a bit about my B25 with RGHW - I'd be a bit sad if it turned into GHW later on. Thanks so much for sharing this!

So can we say that the older Rose Gold HW from 2017 is more likely to oxidize/change into GHW, while newer versions from 2019 onwards have no issues?
For me, no I don't agree with that statement. None of my bags have changed to gold.
All I did was clean the hardware with a cloth very gently and they are just like new. Even my newer birkin (etain) had a bit of oxidation on the corners of the faceplate and it wiped right off.

Not 2017, not newer... none of my bags changed to gold or faded. All are bright and shiny Rose Gold.

As far the use of the word "issues" goes... I don't know what that means exactly. If oxidation is an issue, then my bags all had that issue over time. I do live in a very humid area so maybe that had something to do with it as well. But like I said, the Constances hardware was quite hazy/dirty and it wiped right off with no change to the hardware being rose gold.

If others would like to chime in with their experiences, that would be great. I'm just sharing my experience as I was concerned bc before I cleaned the hardware with the cloth, the hardware looked different, especially on the Constances.

Hi everyone, I just picked up my new C18 Noir RGHW which I am in love with. When I went home and took out my older trench C18 RGHW, I have noticed that the RG has significantly changed color. Do you gals see the same on yours? Is it normal? The RG on trench now almost looks like Yellow Gold when I put it next to the new rosegold!
TIA!
