I think there is a hardware difference between the two besides maybe the lock/key issue...

Thanks. I was wondering if there is a quality difference - I know the handles are different. I'm liking the look of the pebbled handles rather than smooth.

I have two second generation Rogues, but when I ordered a black second generation in September the lining did not seem as nice as my other Rogues.

Now I can't remember what the handles are like. I agree, I don't care for the smoother handles. I found the more recent rogues to be a little more thin on the leather and suede compared to the first or second year rogues were available.

EEK! I love it.

I think the two black Dinkys are going back because this bag is breathtaking. Now I have a dark denim, heather grey, and this black Rogue 25. The only other one I will keep an eye out for is a red one. @Valkrie I know what you mean when you say there is no way you could send yours back. Even though I wear jeans almost all the time I will still use the heck out of this bag.

I love this bag. Is this a different color than the regular Rogue? I see more blue sequins than the larger size.

How do people like the regular rogue with border rivets? I feel the leather quality is a little different (not a soft) but am not sure. Do people have similar experiences? Thank you.
I like my 25 but it was the first Rogue I purchased so had nothing to compare it to. I don't feel it is inferior to the others I have now though. But I have decided I want Rogues with covered/folded over edges rather than the clamped together edges of the Rogue with rivets. Does that make sense?

I don't know if the 25 would be different than the regular.

Soooooo, I got my Ruby Rogue 25 from the latest sale today. This is my first Rogue from the MOST RECENT offerings. I already have a 2nd gen black, olive regular sz & beatnik & oxblood 25s that are a couple years old.
I was struck by a few things which I thought I'd share...
First, although seeming to come from JAX, had a Coach New York dust bag, not a 1941 one. Hmmmm...
Second, the handles on this bag are much thinner than any other Rogue I have.
Lastly, the leather is just not near as pebbled & supple as much of my other 1941 items. Seemed thinner & a bit "dry" looking.
The leather quality is the saddest for me. The other things I can deal with given the sale price but if these changes are things we are seeing all the way around, why isn't the price reflective of that (dare I say cheaper)?
Is my logic or experience off? Welcome your thoughts!

I've heard about the handle difference, could you please post comparison pics?

Also - they HAVE gotten cheaper!
I've been trying to wrap my head around it because all the other brands are doing price INCREASES but Coach has decreased them.
I thought it was initially a fluke during this SAS, maybe the Rogue 25 was showing American list price instead of Canadian, but then I went into store and the prices in store are the same.

I'm going to be speaking about the Rogue 25 here, all in Canadian $$.
I bought the Tea Rose Rogue 25 last Christmas. Regular price $1055. Bought for $633 and later reduced to $527.50 (the max 50% discount).
Earlier this year, the regular price jumped to $1200. Confirmed by the printed stickers on the 1941 tags being $1200. (Some other prices I had memorized jumped too, the Edie 28 from $350 to $375.)
Then the regular price dropped to $895 on the website (I noticed during this SAS). Confirmed by seeing $895 stickers put on top of the $1200 tags in store. Some in the SAS are $447.50 (the max 50% off) but I KNOW that they're from the same season as when I bought my melon tea rose - midnight navy & chambray were available last Christmas too.

Similarly, I was stalking a blue suede Rogue 25 last year (same price as leather versions) on sale for $350 from $700. The regular price for non-embellished Rogue 25 is now $595.

Here are some pics. Very hard to capture the difference in handle width but it is there. I think the handles are placed slightly higher on the Ruby one.
There is very little pebbling to the ruby leather, which is not the case with the black, which I've never done anything to (i.e. conditioning).
Also, US prices on non embellished Rogues have remained unchanged ($595 for 25s & $795 for regular size).
