There are so many other options (including suede-lined, and/or "made in Italy" FWIW) out there at that price point, particularly with all the sales and discounts continually offered at every retailer... It will be kind of strange if Coach takes away the Vietnam-made Rogue's lock *and* excludes it from future discounts.
There will be more (& better) bags in your future
If, like me, you're not really interested in the tote handles they are just kind of a pain and take up the entire outer pockets while adding extra weight and stiffness to the bag. Actually, I wish the tote handles were removable, not the shoulder ones.I spoke to a Coach SA, and they now have the exclusions list. Supposedly, the black Rogue 25 isn't excluded,but the other colors are. The SA I spoke to said she didn't know if it's an error on their part and said all she could do was try to ring it up on Friday, but she said sometimes they will exclude certain colors. Also, all of the other Rogues are excluded, and the regular saddle bag style# 37200 are as well. The whiplash saddle bags will be 30% off.
I won't be ordering a Rogue 25 as chalk was the only color I was interested in of the colors currently available.

I guess the black is unpopular at this time of year, perhaps better luck with future sale events... anyway, I assume I'm not getting the 30% or I'd know by now, and $150 off isn't super tempting to me right now. I appreciate the opportunity to mull it over... thanks for the scoop.Thank you for the info! I think I will tell my SA to cancel the order on the 36 python...too much of a price difference from the other items without 30%. Also have yet to see the 36 in person, but I'm also not super convinced at this point that the design/construction of the large Rogue warrants such a high cost. Will see!
I canceled my black Rogue 25 replacement. I have decided to hold out for something that is either practical (on sale, iPad-holding, with pockets, cross-body and/or shoulder straps and not too heavy - I'm not asking for much!) or super fun (having a lock, made of fancy stuff etc).
I did ask the lovely JAX rep about locks on the upcoming Rogues, and she tried really hard to find out, but they don't have details because the bag isn't even on the website yet.

and the weight of the bag I am concerned about too. I love larger bags, but the medium one is heavy enough as it is.
I don't think I'll be concerned about the weight of the bag so much, just because the bag I carry to work with my laptop is the large Swagger. That one was pretty hefty as well, so I think I should be okay on that front.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear the 25 didn't work for you! I was thinking about getting it in black based on yours and Teagaggle's reveals and after reading Anne's post that it will be included in this sale. Did you find it too heavy? Did the handles just make it too awkward? I'm looking for a smaller bag with compartments and was hoping this would work.

The weight is good, and the handles are also good, especially if you would use the tote handles (for me they were just a bit in the way). I really liked the leather; I found it scrunchy in the way I expected the medium Rogue to be (the medium one I returned wasn't scrunchy, it was more kind of stiff). The pockets are cute.
I wouldn't have used the tote handles much... I have one of the mini Pashlis, and I always end up with it cross-body; trying to carry it as a tote drives me crazy! All my other bags are cross-body, or have shoulder straps alone.
I checked and I'm not going to get the 30% discount - I didn't expect to - so I'd get 25% and it just didn't seem tempting enough. Good luck with your choice, and I'll try to answer any other questions on the bag if you like.

If you're asking why I didn't get the medium, then the main problem with that for me was the weight - I'd want to use it for travel, not just an occasional few minutes of actual carrying, and it seemed too heavy.

Thank you for answering my questions. Too bad your medium rogue was too structured. My oxblood rogue has a slight squishiness to it that I feel is just perfect. I use it both as a satchel and a shoulder bag, depending on the situation. So I would probably do the same with the smaller one. I was thinking maybe if i got the 25 that I would also look for a strap that would match it to use it as a cross body when I needed it. I will probably go Saturday to my local store and order it so I can try it out.
You never know about receiving Coach invites, last PCE I didn't get mine until the first day of the sale.

I'm glad your oxblood is working out well for you, and I hope the 25 will too; it sounds like it would. I think if Coach could just manage to send me an undamaged Rogue in the first place I'd have a hard time returning it. Once you've already got to go through the hassle of replacing it, perfectionism can take over. The cs rep told me that JAX is removing some of the factory wrapping for gift box presentation, so you could try declining the gift boxing for the 25 if you want a bag that is still in its protective coverings.
