I have a heartfelt wish. A special book should be put together about the Queen and it should not contain the usual photos. It should contain all the illustrations that honor her, from the weeping corgi to her holding hands with Paddington bear as they walk off. All the beautiful little crocheted dolls and figures. All the little momentos her sujects honored her with. Remmembrances from those who loved her, regular citizens of the realm.

I am impressed with Princess Beatrice's husband. He was one of the first of the family to post a loving tribute to the Queen, he is unobtrusively supportive of Beatrice, who he loves deeply, and he understands and practices Royal protocol. He appears to move easily and appropriately as a member of the family, at a Garden Party this summer, he fit right in, at Ascot, the same. There is also an article on line that Edo's stepbrother wrote a beautiful poem about the Queen to give to his sister-in-law Beatrice as she deals with her grief. Beatrice chose well.

This touched me.

Princess Beatrice's husband Edoardo has been spotted in a behind the scenes photo as he paid tribute to the Queen.

The 38-year-old was seen paying his respects in Green Park, London, as he crouched down to look at the flowers and cards laid in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

Dressed in a smart black suit, Edoardo was pictured observing the floral display, looking deep in thought along with the other mourners.

Edoardo, the founder of Banda Property which is a property development and interior design company, has one child with Princess Beatrice, the niece of King Charles III.

The couple married in 2020, after knowing each other from childhood, and have a 11-month old named Sienna.

A large tribute site was set up at Green Park to allow members of the public to pay their respects to the former monarch, who died last week at Balmoral, aged 96.

Bea chose well. He is a top-notch kind of person.
Imo, Andrew in uniform was the proper decision.

Sunday breakfast!

The Queen sent this recipe to President Eisenhower in 1960 with an accompagnying letter that read 'Seeing a picture of you in today's newspaper standing in front of a barbecue grilling quail reminded me that I had never sent you the recipe of the drop scones which I promised you at Balmoral. I now hasten to do so, and hope you will find it successful.'

She even gave advice on modifications: "When there are fewer, I generally put in less flour and milk but use other ingredients as stated. I have also tried using golden syrup or treacle instead of only sugar, and that can be very good too."

Recipe as the original is hard to read:

Ingredients

4 teacups flour

4 tablespoons caster sugar

2 teacups milk

2 whole eggs

2 teaspoons bicarbonate soda

3 teaspoons cream of tartar

2 tablespoons melted butter

"Beat eggs, sugar, and about half the milk together, add flour, and mix well together, adding the remainder of milk as required, also bicarbonate and cream of tartar, fold in the melted butter."

I think they are fried like thick pancakes, preferably on a griddle.

I like that the little balcony areas in the Queen Elizabeth coffin area.
I'm not sure how some people get up there, but they seem to linger a bit.
Also, where are the physically challenged people.
I see no one with wheelchairs or walkers.
Is there an entrance or ramp for these folks.

*Edited to add: I just saw a wheelchair and walker.
The Elizabeth Queue is truly amazing!
