RIMOWA, Anyone?

been thinking of getting my first rimowa (carry on), really like the white one but will it show wear quickly? should i get purple instead?

I have the Salsa Air in white that I check in regularly. Of course it does show signs. But you can easily remove them with turpentine (I was recommended to do so by the SA), and it is an article of use after all. I think the white looks very chic, so I would say: go for it!

Has anyone been denied using their Rimowa as a carry on since they exceed the 14" width? I just bought the Topas IATA but would hate having to risk checking it...

My dh for example does ;)
And it drives me nuts, because why have 4 wheels when you only use 2, lol??

I feel like the 2 wheels still works better on carpet. Only on hard floors do these rimowas roll like butter; otherwise in the carpeted areas or on the carpeted or inclined jet bridge, can be kind of a pain "pushing it" sideways standing upward vs. pulling it on 2 wheels.

Any color will show wear if you check it. Our black Limbo is a mess after checking it twice. My silver salsa deluxe carry on is still pristine but I never check it.

does anyone use it on 2 wheels when the 4 wheels option is available? Hehe

I only use the 2 wheel option when there is snow, many stones or the surface is very bumpy. Using all 4 wheels in those cases will make it harder to push.

My first Rimowa is the Salsa Air in purple. Held up very well, but I almost never checked it. I prefer the Topaz these days though as it's heavier weight makes it easier to push on 4 wheels

I realise that the ASAP deadline is most likely long gone, but for what it's worth I definitely say keep the Limbo! Why? Because it weighs less than the Topas. Admittedly only about one pound, but that might mean your best pair of shoes, or at least one pound less to ligt above your hed and into the overhead compartment.

Kind of curious which one you picked? ;-)

Thanks Roku DH is trying to persuade me that we "need" Rimowa. I'm not sold yet as I'm sometimes in little computer airports with uneven surfaces.
