RIMOWA, Anyone?

I heard that all of the higher end models will have the e-tag in the second quarter of this year. Is that true ? It adds like an additional $150 which isn't bad.
Yes but the E-tag is kind of useless if you fly airlines (like U.S. airlines) that don't use or support it.
Currently, I think only Lufthansa supports it.

Basically it has this function where when you "check in" from your app or the airline's website, and you're checking a bag, you can then "tag" your bag with a luggage tag from your device or website before you get to the airport, and so that they don't have to add the tag to the bag separately. This would require of course that the airline system supports this functionality. Good luck with having any of our U.S. legacy carriers adopting this soon...

the way I see it, the only way for U.S. airlines to adopt this and integrate this into their dinosaur systems is if Samsonite or other mainstream manufacturer uses it, and there is widespread demand.

Currently they sell both versions with and without the etag. I only buy the ones without.

Has anyone tried to fit the classic flight iata in the united airlines sizer or even the topas iata? I'm debating between the two.

I have the salsa deluxe cabin in black and even though the dimensions seem too big for the sizer, it actually fits perfectly. I'm just not happy with how much this bag scuffs.

Looking for an aluminum cabin for domestic flights.

I have not tried in United Airlines sizer but the Topas definitely fits into the AA sizer.

May I ask if your Topas is IATA 52 or 53? I think 53 is an inch more in depth (9.1') than the 52. I would like to get the 53 but only if it can be used as a carryon. It seems the 52 is fine for carryon but I am not sure about the 53. Thanks.

Can i ask this question? I am looking for carry on Rimowa 22" .. so there are two kinds I found on Bloomingdale website one is Multiwheel[emoji768] IATA and the one without IATA, so what is IATA ? Thanks

IATA is the international approved carry-on size and is a little smaller. Personally I get that size since the other one is technically over carry-on requirements for US airlines...

Do you think it is worth to get check in luggage in rimowa? I was affraid how damages the TSA could give the luggage and the maximum the airport refund only $500?
Where could i get Rimowa with great discount? Shoudl i get in US or cheaper in Europe? Does Rimowa ever run promotion at department store ?

Definitely cheaper in Europe. If you go through Germany you can buy it at Lufthansa World Shop. Sometimes you can find a deal in the US but not often.

Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy my first rimowa! I want a carry on size. Does anyone have suggestions?
Thank you!!
First of all you need to make up your mind if you want aluminum or polycarbonate. I think aluminum is more classic, but it is also a bit heavier. I have the Salsa in dark blue, and it is a perfect carry-on imo... The Salsa Air is even lighter, it only has slight differences in the design. then there is the Salsa Deluxe which has outside pockets. Not interesting for me, but DH prefers this design feature. Do you have a store close-by where you can try them out?
