RG Guilloche & Carnelian

After several options were sent to me and then sent back, today the perfect shade of red arrived. I am surprised and happy, since I had almost given up. All of the previous ones were more burgundy or brick red, and I wanted a bright/true red. In the future, I would not attempt to chose carnelian based on photos because it just does not photograph accurately in the boutique lighting and certainly not on the trays. My SA said that she could choose the best option if I sent her videos of the shade I want and let her select the best options, so that is what I did.

Thx everyone for posting your beautiful pics here! I’m super jealous and actually getting a bit discouraged about finding the right red carnelian for myself. The carnelian/Guilloche 5 motif I’ve seen so far are quite dull red or orange-y. I hv a super nice SA and I feel bad for saying no every time. Debating if I should get a chalcedony 5 motif instead since it was supposed to be my next bracelet until carnelian/Guilloche popped up and messed up my planning.

What a lovely stack! The guilloche is indeed so shiny, kind of make me hesitant to stack it with other bracelets as I don't want it to get scratched
Yeah I think it's bound to happen with guilloche.. I feel as if there are some tiny specks in it now after I wore it out for the first time today (with my love bracelet only and made sure my love bracelet was always "tight" and above it). It's bound to happen, though! Its a fine balance between looking after our pieces and still being able to enjoy them :)

I think it depends on how tight / loose your bracelets are as well. I wonder if my sweet bracelet which is quite fitting will cross with the 5 motif or not..!

(I ended up eating hotpot and after a while realised having my new bracelet over the hotpot heat was not advisable and took it off )

True. I think I'll stack it with the sweet 6 motif every now and then but won't throw in a tennis bracelet though, I think the diamonds may scratch it. I have mine adjusted to 15 cm and with my sweet 6 motif worn with a single motif dangling (about 16.5 cm) it does jump but not often, I think yours should be good.

Btw, I'm not sure if you recall me suggesting a mini beauty blender to clean the sweet motif, turned out it works even better on the VA size. One gentle rub all the marks on the carnelian are gone  worked much better than the VCA cleaning cloth & q-tip. I even cleaned the guilloche with it to get rid of the dust & gunk stuck in the crevices too! If you're OCD like me definitely give it a try. haha

I will try it stacked with the sweet next  although honestly it's so nice on its own I think less is more!

I forgot about the mini beauty blender bit! I only have the regular sized one and will definitely give it a try tomorrow to see if it works - else I will order the mini ) thank you!
I find that the cloth still works for VA but couldn't get into the guilloche at all!

I can understand how frustrating it must feel before you find the right shade of red for your skin tone, but when you do find the right shade it's such a beautiful piece to add to your collection. My only concern is that we don't know how long VCA will keep offering it until they pause the production again for another relaunch in few years, whereas chalcedony is always readily available. I'd say give it a few more tries, make sure to try it on your arm too because from my experience, the carnelian that looks nice on its own when not being worn often turned out to be too dark or appeared a bit dull on the arm. I remember one particular carnelian that I thought was quite orange-y but when my SA lay it on his arm, it looked like a beautiful bright red so it can definitely work for certain skin tones!
