Right, I think for my skin tone I'd have to go with a very opaque stone to be brighter. But it's reassuring to hear that you all seem to like the darker (actual) shade on my wrist. I think I also prefer the darker shade juuuust a bit more, but I still can't ignore that I was initially looking for a brighter one quite yet if that makes sense.

It looks beautiful on you! Definitely a keeper Part of carnelian's charm is the chameleon effect so I wouldn't recommend hunting down one where the stones are opaque. It's the same reason I'm always drawn to blue agate and chalcedony too. Enjoy your new bracelet!

I am a little confused. These are the same bracelet and you are just wondering if it is still a nice color when next to your skin as well as when it is held away from your skin in the light? If so, I do like both shades.

In my opinion these are two very good shades, but it really comes down to your personal preference.

I had 2 bracelets sent to me to check the color in person, but neither one matched my necklace, unfortunately. I need the shade of your bracelet to match, so let me know if you do decide to return this one (I think we shop at the same boutique).

I think I would keep it if I were you, but maybe ask your SA to send you a second one to compare it with first so that you can be sure.

I just thought of this - have you considered shipping your necklace to your SA to match in person? Not sure if your necklace is from VCA, but even if it's not and you're comfortable with it, this might be the best way to shop remotely haha.

My ring arrived this morning. I like it better than I thought I would. I have an average-size hand and think the ring sits well on it. And I like the shade of red of the carnelian—in sunlight it’s a bright red and in shadow a rich red. The stone has some translucence but the RG behind it helps it maintain a consistent color. This is my first RG and I look forward to adding to it at some point.

Congrats to everyone who got the gorgeous carnelian/guilloche pieces in RG.

Had the opportunity to pick my perfect lipstick red carnelian and needless to say I am thrilled to add the 5-motif. Can’t wait for it to come back after re-sizing.

The ring didn’t come home with me but the bracelet sure did

Yes, it is comfortable. I was concerned that the diamond in the guilloche side would press into my finger but it does not. On the advice of my SA I took one size smaller than my usual ring size. I am fortunate that the ring fits as it cannot be sized.

I heard that it is permanent so hopefully you can get what you are after soon. How are you finding the ring? Is it comfortable? Do you find that you use the reversible feature? I got the 5 motif bracelet but wondering whether I should get the ring too.
