RG Guilloche & Carnelian

That's so weird! I've always been told that the deposit can be fully refunded, not sure why the SA is making it sound like it's final sale for something you don't get to see/try on first. Wouldn't it be easier to just order from the website/e-boutique then? I know you won't get to pick the carnelian but at least you can return it if you don't like the color. :-s
The SA I spoke with through customer service on the phone mentioned that too. She said it was ridiculous that I shouldn’t be able to pick in the boutique :annoyed:

If I were you I would check with the SM there to make sure that's standard protocols at that boutique and possibly switch to a different SA. I can't imagine them doing this to every client and they're perfectly fine with it. I don't like asking for a manager but for some things I don't mind pulling a Karen :amuse: There's nothing luxurious about buying a $5k+ bracelet, sight unseen and told it's final sale, even the street vendors offer better shopping experience than that.

What are the care guidelines for this piece? Any explicit Dos /Donts?

Is this piece shower safe?
This is from VCA's website, similar information can be found in the care booklet that came with your authenticity certificate. Technically carnelian is quite hardwearing and safe to expose to water, but depends on what products you use in the shower can drastically impact the wears & tears. Be careful with the guilloche though as they're prone to scratches especially on the bracelet. The scratches will appear like tiny dots and make the motifs appear less shiny overtime. Unlike carnelian which can be replaced at a fee, guilloche cannot be serviced/repaired once they have been damaged.

Thank you - this is very helpful. I have the Onyx bracelet and rarely take it off, so plan to do the same with this piece. Although will try to be a bit more careful given the scratch-prone guilloche, but will wear it in the shower like I do with my Onyx.

I do exercise extra caution such as avoiding spraying sunscreen / fragrances / any other sprays directly in the area of the bracelet.

I was told by my sa that the guilloche can be replaced too, at a higher cost of course

Ahh good to know, I'll have to check with my SA next time. Kinda scared to find out how much the replacement of a single guilloche would cost since the stone is $250 a pop and a tiny loose diamond is more than that. LOL
I asked him the cost but he said they would need to ask the workshop for a quote. But he has guaranteed the price wouldn’t be too crazy

Pairs well with my sweet stack but also duplicative..

DIED when I tried it on as a 5+5!!!! Can't buy 2 bracelets though $$ one day..! Tricky part is it will definitely have to be the same bracelet because there isn't really any other RG to stack it with (only the gmop+pave?)

My SA saved the perfect red for me :) couldn't leave it behind! Initially decided not to shorten and try it with a hanging motif, so that the length will be more amenable for 5+5 in future, but I decided to just enjoy it as a bracelet for now since it will be a long time till I get another 5 motif, and decided to shorten it :)

Shortening it is smart. That dangling motifs distracts from the beauty of the piece.

May I ask for opinion pls? I finally received my bracelet today and the carnelian shade is not what I was expecting since I shopped remotely. My SA and I picked this one out together and I liked how the red looks on her wrist, but I forgot we have different wrists LOL  Below on the right is what I thought I would prefer initially, and the left is the actual shade in person. The tone of my wrist in person is also closer to the left side, which has a bit of olive-y tone. I think both shades are equally charming, just in different ways. My problem is, I actually don't know which one I prefer now... Would anyone have tips when being indecisive...?

If it helps, I like that the right one is very bright true red; it is a better shade *by itself* in my humble opinion. But I also like that the left one is more toned down and *potentially* lower profile (?) The left also matches my carnelian serpenti ring better. Thanks in advance to those that chime in!!

I am a little confused. These are the same bracelet and you are just wondering if it is still a nice color when next to your skin as well as when it is held away from your skin in the light? If so, I do like both shades.

In my opinion these are two very good shades, but it really comes down to your personal preference.

I had 2 bracelets sent to me to check the color in person, but neither one matched my necklace, unfortunately. I need the shade of your bracelet to match, so let me know if you do decide to return this one (I think we shop at the same boutique).

I think I would keep it if I were you, but maybe ask your SA to send you a second one to compare it with first so that you can be sure.

I like the one on the left more on you! It’s very pretty. The one on the right looks like it’s between red and orange?

I really like it on you. While it looks a bit darker on you but it's still a very nice shade of red. I suspect it'll look like the right side when you're out on a sunny day. You'll have to look hard for some really opaque carnelian (and in the right shade) if you have your heart set on the right side in natural lighting, but in that case, the stones will lose the glowy effect & look flat under all settings/lightings because they're so opaque.

Oh we do? Do you also shop in one of the Vegas stores? And yes I guess the short version of my question is - does darker or lighter/brighter carnelian look better on my wrist? Sorry if I made it too complicated.

It is actually the exact same motif. The color difference is because of how transparent the motif is, which is a huge reason why my SA and I picked this one in the first place. So when the bracelet is not against my skin completely, more light goes through and makes it a lighter red on the right. But my SA is Caucasian with pale skin so it looks SOOOOO stunning on her, and I think my olive skin is a bit harder to match with compared to hers.

Right, I think for my skin tone I'd have to go with a very opaque stone to be brighter. But it's reassuring to hear that you all seem to like the darker (actual) shade on my wrist. I think I also prefer the darker shade juuuust a bit more, but I still can't ignore that I was initially looking for a brighter one quite yet if that makes sense.

Some more pics below since carnelian changes color like a chameleon. Nonetheless, thank you so much for helping me!!
