Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I think they all should. Unboxing after unboxing it gets boring and there are times I wonder to myself.. is chanel that cheap? It appears these bloggers are dropping 10,000 + a month on bags … is YouTube that lucrative?
Oh I noticed Alyssa posts more n more videos of her dog Wade n her fiancé Marco. I guess that is her way of switching up her content for awhile

Alyssa is a full time content creator so depending on her rate for ig posts and youtube, she probably makes a decent living. You can actually look up how much a youtuber makes per vid on the website social blade.

I’m way behind Alyssa Lenore’s posts. What happened?

Nothing big happened but her videos have been more sponsored based and she hasn’t posted her vlog on Monday. She posted on ig that she was staying at the equinox hotel in NYC(sponsored of course) but no word on unboxings.

Thanks for this. She’s a content creator so it’s given she earns from it . She sells what she doesn’t use and it’s understandable. It’s not hoarding unicorns as a hustle like the iG “taking an break” ladies

Right, however I feel like some of the things she recommends to her audience is TOO expensive. Like she listed a mirror and it was $300 and most of her viewers are college students.

Finally finished reading all 76 pages lol I want to share my experience as well. I've decided to take a break from Chanel for many reasons but the main one is the always "Sold Out". I stopped buying costume jewerly many years ago due to high price but low quality. This year, I really want the CC turnlock studd earrings. It's such a classic style. Of course it's impossible to get one and I've checked boutiques, and depts - NONE. Yet, I see so many of them available through PS/Resellers on IG. Such a turn off and they go for over $100 more than retail. Another example would be the unicorn 21P Caramel anything. Right now, I really want 21A snap/flap card holder in either "brown" aka pumpkin or grey and cannot find one anywhere  Oh well... I don't think I can justify paying $720 for it through PS/Resellers on IG.

This reseller lives in Vancouver. It is one of the most competitive cities with one hermes store and one Chanel store. Those hot bags she's selling in the pictures are very difficult to get. Some speculate the spend is 2-3x for b/k/c. The only thing harder to get than a bag is a house lol. (The market is hot with bidding wars and housing starting at $2m)

It tougher to see a reseller that's local and is somehow able to get the latest bags from stores for resale rather letting someone buy the bag to enjoy. The local Chanel store only orders like 2-4 bags of each colour to sell.
I agree with all the things you wrote about Vancouver.......very difficult to get htf bags at Chanel and Hermes. I've given up hope for a Hermes bag as I will not buy things that I am 'lukewarm' about in order for a chance to be offered a bag. And the bag they might offer will be in a bright color I would never wear or own. I thought Chanel shopping was tough over 5 years ago but during the Pandemic, it has gotten to epic proportions where you will never get any highly sought after color from the collection. There is no luxury experience when you are full of anxiety, thinking, texting your SA and chasing to hopefully get your bag. Unfortunately, still not done with Chanel yet. I am hoping that in the not so distant future, people will redirect their spending on travel, experiences, etc and allow us 'true Chanel lovers' (not resellers) to buy the bag.

The newest collection is out in the US stores. And idk guys am I wrong in thinking that there seems to be less frenzy over this collection?!? I’m not seeing as much price gauging and hoarding of bags by resellers. Perhaps the new measures put in place by Chanel is actually having an impact and real buyers have been able to get their hands on their desired bags!

I see posts on insta where people are running to the store to queue up in London.

Posting YouTube videos n increases viewership is her “job”.. totally understand that Alyssa wants to earn extra money by pushing for promoting but lately watching her videos are mostly about product placement. Most recently Farfetch codes n sponsor videos from Farfetch. Most of items she promoted are pricey. when she started her YouTube video journey it wasn’t like this..

I feel like this, too. This is why I got turned off LV for a long time, because the website was always 'out of stock' on everything and yet people had the pieces readily available to sell. And with Hermes you have to play games to get items. I don't consider hunting for things to be fun. I like Gucci for example, you go on the website and get what you want or go in the store and get it. Of course the value does not hold like it does with Chanel/Hermes/LV but it's a trade-off for not having the headache of hunting down a bag!!

Same boat. Unsubbed from MelSoldera, Alyssa Lenore, and Hello Catwalk City. MelSoldera has especially been over-saturating with a reseller she works with—she just picks up bags from the reseller and describes them on her channel too often. Love her personality and style but constantly featuring reseller bags is a huge turn off. I'm still on the Je Suis Lou train—I haven't noticed a ton of reseller vibes every single video, and she's starting a sailing channel with Paolo soon too.

I'd love some channel suggestions with fun personalities, mod shots, bags, and general style talk!

KarenBritChick is someone I’ve started to really enjoy. Love her style and attitude.

Definitely agree with you on that. Her latest video is from Farfetch and you still have to shop on that site a lot to unlock certain perks. But I do notice, she's not posting as much on IG anymore either since this thread went viral among the lux reseller community

Well I take back my last comment about the crazy lines- stopped by today and it was longer than ever even though I’m pretty sure the sale in the US is over by and large. However, my department store SA offered me three different minis this week. A while back when I asked about a 21S mini before that collection came out, she basically laughed in my face and said it had been reserved months ago. Perhaps supply is starting to increase to come more line with demand, or this season’s colors just weren’t as desirable/a similar color had been done recently?
