Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

Oh I know the feeling! I had a bag that I actually purchased from FP that was slightly over retail but ended up returning bc it bothered me too much that it was over retail. I count the tax too but even then it was over and it just didn’t sit well w me. I still think about it but not to the point where I regret not getting it.

It is very hard! I am eyeing a bag on fashionphile but it is slightly above the retail price. I am so tempted but keep reminding myself it is not worth it! I am going to wait until Chanel releases the color which I am sure they will..but I find myself keep coming back to the bag and the feelings start all over again haha!

I am with you both on this haha. I’ve been tempted to purchase from resellers, especially when I missed out on the 21p brown. But I know that rather than loving the bag when I receive it…I’m just going to be reminded of how I got jipped or ripped off into paying more than I normally would at retail+taxes.
I know some people don’t mind since it’s an trade off to not having to go into the store and hunt it down….but honestly, i don’t mind doing the work/sending texts to my SAs when I’m looking for something. It makes me so much more appreciative of the bag/item knowing how hard I (and my SA) worked to get it!

I don’t remember anyone wish covid on anyone else? We just want covid to be over so we can get out to the boutiques ourselves or just to live life. Someof us lux enthusiasts have no where to vent about how youtube/ig is one advertisements/listing after the other.

It’s just a discussion. A seller can charge however they want, a doctor can charge however much for their drugs and so on(or you can hoard the medication to sell higher than doctor’s price :giggle:). Who wants to buy just buy. People can do whatever and no one is controlling anyone. We just discuss about it here about our experiences.

TBH I’m glad this page was started, it’s really helpful. Would find this page negative only if I was a reseller too .

People like this are deranged and dying to be the victim. These kinds of resellers get mad when others realize what they’re doing isn’t normal or even luxurious and we are catching them at their game, so they fall deeply into their persecution complex as a defense. It’s just pure nonsense.

Hello @that.collection it is 75 pages now !

My mom texted me this article today… it sounded like a totally normal story (albeit, annoying to deal with disputing charges on your cards) BUT there’s a whole lot of recent unicorns in that lady’s photo in the article. Extra Mini Cocos, Mini Top Handles and Birkins. :S

This reseller lives in Vancouver. It is one of the most competitive cities with one hermes store and one Chanel store. Those hot bags she's selling in the pictures are very difficult to get. Some speculate the spend is 2-3x for b/k/c. The only thing harder to get than a bag is a house lol. (The market is hot with bidding wars and housing starting at $2m)

It tougher to see a reseller that's local and is somehow able to get the latest bags from stores for resale rather letting someone buy the bag to enjoy. The local Chanel store only orders like 2-4 bags of each colour to sell.

I'm not knocking the hustle for sure - I'm in Toronto; so I get it  But I went from feeling bad for her, dreading my own calls with the disputes departments and fraud when you get bizarre charges... to not feeling quite as bad when I saw the picture of all the HTF bags.

I want to know what Gucci bag she was selling for $1600. Way to leave me hanging, CBC.

Looks like this 75 page-thread is becoming popular and eye-opening! :) kudos to those who are vigilant against the rampant reselling influencer vibes

And Catwalk just decided she wanted to take a break. Cheers!

Same boat. Unsubbed from MelSoldera, Alyssa Lenore, and Hello Catwalk City. MelSoldera has especially been over-saturating with a reseller she works with—she just picks up bags from the reseller and describes them on her channel too often. Love her personality and style but constantly featuring reseller bags is a huge turn off. I'm still on the Je Suis Lou train—I haven't noticed a ton of reseller vibes every single video, and she's starting a sailing channel with Paolo soon too.

I'd love some channel suggestions with fun personalities, mod shots, bags, and general style talk!

I watch and subscribe to almost most, if not all, of the YouTubers mentioned. As of late, I have really been enjoying watching Dayle’s Addiction. She’s super sweet and very genuine and has only done one sponsor (Lily Silk- and who hasn’t done that one??!!). I understand that for many of the Youtubers this is their full time job, but the amount of sponsored content, ads, and just plain trying to sell products really annoy me. I love cocoabeautea, LValiquette, Emma Hill, and Carol Chan as well.

Right I noticed that Alyssa Lenore didn't post her vlog yesterday. I think they all caught wind of this thread and probably planning how to strategically plan out their content.

Yup, the timing is verrrry interesting.

My thing is,if you’re going to buy and resell..you might as well own it!

Theres no point in hiding behind minimalism, when thats not what youre doing or promoting, Lol.

CC tries way too hard and clearly has thin skin…which is why shes probably upset at this thread.

Hopefully when she returns from her break, she ditches all the “curating” bs.

I am glad I am not the only one who can see this. Unfollowed her long ago. She seemed very none genuine and her sponsored posts are just bland.
Same with catwalk. Happy to hear that minks4all will be coming back.

I think they all should. Unboxing after unboxing it gets boring and there are times I wonder to myself.. is chanel that cheap? It appears these bloggers are dropping 10,000 + a month on bags … is YouTube that lucrative?
Oh I noticed Alyssa posts more n more videos of her dog Wade n her fiancé Marco. I guess that is her way of switching up her content for awhile

I’m way behind Alyssa Lenore’s posts. What happened?
