Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I am so sorry! That is an unacceptable behavior. I would suggest checking the SA thread to find a good SA. There are some very good ones out there. I also agree about buying a little over retail from personal shoppers. My cut off is no more than what I would pay tax in my state but lately all of these personal shoppers have been charging about 20-40% extra fees which to me is unacceptable and just greedy behavior. I saw caramel Chanel 19 in small size being sold for $7100 which is 40% extra than retail. Also those chevron rose gold bags are being sold at 10K+ and people are willing to pay for it. This to me is just plain ridiculous!

In my state I still have to pay tax if I buy out of state items so it doesn't help. If you buy from flippers than it makes it harder for real customers that want to enjoy the bag to buy them. If you wait all year for your bag to come out and cannot get it then see it on a bunch of reseller websites selling it doesn't it bother you?

Of course it does! I am against flipping of bags. Period. I meant to say that buying a bag is ok as long as you are paying the retail+ the tax of your state but this is rarely possible in the reselling market. In fact these days it is impossible.

Oh sorry I get it! Yes exactly. It seems there is an abundance of Chanel bags on resale sights so how are the prices staying so high on them. Maybe next year with the limits in place it will help even it out again.

What i don't understand is Chanel is releasing a lite grey in 21A (caviar) and dark grey in 21B (caviar) so grey is not like a rare color or anything .. why will some one want to buy a preloved grey bag if the next 2 seasons will come out with 2 different variations ??

When it comes to selling, i guess you only need that one person to be willing to buy each item. Second hand market is not regulated so as long as you (the seller) can get a buyer, then it works out for you.

She said she will resell the bag instead. What she said is really upsetting. Why isn’t she returning the bag to the Chanel boutique instead so other people on the waitlist can get it?

She’s probably embarrassed to return it, she probably pestered her SA for it and then was disappointed when she received it.
OR she wants to resell it at a higher price.

Customers who buy from resellers are real customers, too. Those who don't have time/patience for the hunt. Those who feel their time is better spent elsewhere (more productive) than cajoling SAs/visiting shops, etc. If someone earns $500k nett, 4-5 hours spent searching (cajoling/back and forth calls/shop visits over weeks/months) = about $1,000. Resellers provide a service. It's a beautiful market solution.

She has a lot of fairly easy to find classic black caviar pieces that are being sold at an absurd markup. I really do think a lot of these resellers are taking advantage of yet-to-be-educated consumers who see something on an influencer and decide they have to have it but don't really know how to go about acquiring it directly from Chanel. I'm sure it's no coincidence that JRB works with a lot of influencers that have large followings.

So, I've been on the hunt for a 19B gray classic flap and I noticed a month or so ago that Julia Rose Boston had one for sale for nearly $7,000. I passed on it because JRB didn't respond when I asked for more pictures. Also, the bag looked really crooked and had some specific wear and tear issues on the inside flap, and for $7,000 that's absolutely unacceptable to me.

Today I noticed Redeluxe has a 19B gray classic flap for sale for nearly $8,000. I was so excited at first (aside from the astronomical price), but then....I started wondering if it could be the same bag? Redeluxe's bag has THE SAME EXACT wear and tear issues on the inside flap that the one from JRB's listing had.

So, that leads me to think that either:
Theory 1: Redeluxe bought it from JRB and are selling it for more on their own platform to make a 1k profit?
Theory 2: Someone bought it from JRB, then sold it to Redeluxe?

Either way, they are most likely going to have no problems at all selling this 2 year old preloved bag that has some very obvious wear and tear for 8k, which is mind-blowing to me. That's nearly 2k above today's retail price.

Few days later YF(reseller) listed the exact same bag for $7500. My heart sank. I used to buy from YF twice before but now I unfollowed and not going to buy from them anymore.

Then today I saw a local selling platform (something like tradesy) someone listed a red chevron mini for $4900 and when it sold, a seller TC posted the exact same bag for $6300!!! I used to buy from TC twice before too and she used to have really good deals as she gets from Japan directly... but after seeing her recent prices and that she buys to resell I unfollowed her as well.

All above are sellers selling locally.

As for international sellers I have purchased from TimelessLikeAud & Luxurytholic before and paid 1-2k above retail/market. Even though their response and service was good I am forever plagued by THAT feeling when I look at my unicorns. Like "Have I paid too much?" but "No one forced you to pay!" and "I got what I wanted and everything is good so why care?" yeah but "I could have bought 2 instead of one! or get another VCA!" and yeah I know it's very 1st world problem so ok I'll shut up and see myself out... sigh....

So disappointed with how things have turned put about chanel. Nothinng in the latest collection that I fancy either.
I think I'm taking a chanel break. :/

Being on a break is not a bad thing it just gives you time to think about your future purchases.

Back when caviar mini rect were 3000-4000 CAD, I thought it was ridiculous to try and line up during the launch to try and compete for these items when you spend that much.. Jokes on me. These go for sooo sooo sooo insane prices. And for a mini.

I have seen caviar Diana’s for $8900 on eBay! It’s obscene. Across all platforms I see many Diana’s of varying quality (ie not pristine and definitely scratched up or stained) still selling for more than $3500. It is so irritating. I know some people said it’s blown up because of the resell market in general but I also wonder if renewed interest in princess Diana due to the crown season four coming out during the pandemic helped fuel things (even though the bag is not featured)
