In Southeast Asia we are used to paying more than double the cost of retail in USA or Europe. For everything luxury, not only bags. Luxury tax alone is 30-40% for leather and textile items, and then there's shipping, the hassle of ordering through a personal shopper, etc. Items available online for worldwide shipping is actually making everything 'cheaper' (at least time-wise) even at current prices. Welcome to our world.I'm shocked someone was willing to pay more than double the cost of retail. They must have felt they couldn't live without it. This is why Fashionphile will continue charging these prices. There's will always be a buyer.
It came back I had gotten an alert that it was available again... maybe someone bought and returned? I can’t imagine this being sold for over 8K!I was curious if the caramel mini rectangular bag on Fashionphile would actually sell at this exorbitant price so I took a screenshot... and it sold!![]()
My Personal shopper fees is about 10% . Did you ask the seller where she got from ? From my understanding US , Hong Kong has the cheapest prices now . European countries with taxes are more expensive. How much is a mini rectangle in the US? I live in Japan and the mini rectangle here is 453000 JPY. I wasn’t able to score a mini rectangle in the iridescent beige so I asked a reseller and she was selling it for 550000+ JPY!!! Thats 100000 JPY (approximately 1000 USD) mark-up. I cannot stomach having to pay that much premium. I could buy two SLGs from that!!! I passed on it, there will always be another beige coming my way. But my 100,000 JPY of sourcing fees, I will never get that back.
I am not here for the witch hunt and to hate. I personally believe if it’s hard to find,no boutique, then by all means get from a reseller.
But a mark-up of 1000 USD? What exactly did someone had to go through to get a bag for them to price it that much? The answer is simple: there are many people involved and they split the profits.
can’t wait for this madness to end(or will it?)

Yes they are she is a reseller from asia and I saw many posts about other chanel and designer stuff. I hate how they use the word "source" when they are resellers and its actually called hoarding. Sourcing is when you get one for a client not keep as many as you can findWow 10 bags makes me wonder if they’re all authentic.
Here in the U.S. it’s $4,000+ tax! I was in Japan last summer and was lucky enough to be able to score a mini in the Ginza flagship store, they usually have amazing stock! These mark ups are insane …I know one reseller in Japan on ig that seems to be in that Chanel Ginza boutique everyday buying for her clients lolHow much is a mini rectangle in the US? Welcome to your world? Imo, what’s going on is frustrating, sad and shouldn’t happen in any country. Fair access to products is the issue, not misery-loves-company. I suppose I’m not a ‘hate the game, not the player’ kind of person- my naive hope is that more and more customers, wherever they are, wake to the future aspects of this type of sale model and rally against it, if that’s what they choose to do.In Southeast Asia we are used to paying more than double the cost of retail in USA or Europe. I think FP prices items high, knowing they won’t sell. Then (overtime), FP provides their discount of 5-10%, hoping customers will think they’re getting a bargain and buy at the still over-priced amount.I noticed fashionphile has adjusted the listing price on some of their high markup items. If people don’t buy, the prices will come down.
