Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I disagree. I have a 20 year relationship with chanel and I don’t get what I want. It’s not easy as going into the store and buying what you want. Your now competing with resellers, other favored customers and influencers. Not to mention with the rise of social media, people have more disposable income and are spending more on designer than I remember 10 years ago. I have to contact 10+ SAs every season to find what I want. It’s ridiculous.

I am living in Europe, in Vienna, where we have one Chanel shop, where my long-term SA is based and she is the only one I contact. If she manages to have/order the item I want, I will be able to get it. That is the one and only contact I am making in my search.

I found my bag available from a reseller in Australia. It's really crazy because she's cheaper than the resellers here in the US. I ended up not getting the bag, the stress of the package getting lost, paying customs plus the possibility of being scammed is not worth it to me. Chanel should change their return policy, some of these resellers try to sell the bag within the 14 day period and return when they can't sell it. If they have the same return policy as Hermes, that would put a pause on some people trying to make a profit on these bags.

I just unfollowed all of the resellers that I’ve been following. I was following them obviously to see pics of new stuff... but I think after the drama with this collection, I’ve just had enough. I honestly cannot even stand to see them in my feed anymore. I’m sorry if that seems extreme - but those of us who are regular Chanel clients had to basically humiliate ourselves this season by going to ridiculous measures just to get a bag. I’ve seen a lot of these resellers with readily available stock of the coveted 21S light pink that everyone is after - and it makes me sick.

I also second the posters who mentioned their frustration with luxbuntoutou - the woman just has zero class. I actually feel embarrassed for her.

I think the first step is to unfollow these resellers and just not give them business. I would honestly rather go to FF because at least there is a return policy in case if you aren’t happy.

End rant lol.

I can’t believe how much hatred is on this thread, people hiding behind screen names reporting people with public profiles. It’s not hard to figure out who you are and ruining ones business unless you’re sure comes with consequences.

Plenty of the resellers are you- buying bags that are available you don’t want and selling thru them to make a profit. If you want to blame someone blame Chanel or blame the fact you return a lot or aren’t loyal to a SA. Not all resellers and Personal Shoppers deserve to be maligned.

The poster on here who said she would buy and turn in, that’s terrible. I have worked with a few of these resellers and they’ve helped me and I’m happy with their services. The ones I know work hard and long hours answering your questions.

This is all over a few bags? How sad. Some of the peeps mentioned here need to be called out but to go after all of them with so much hatred is another level.

You sound like a reseller. So much rage and indignation. If all their comments bother you so much don’t read them.

Finally a voice of reason. I think a lot of ppl in this thread would love to make a profit on a bag if they had the opportunity to. Isn’t that one of the appeals of Chanel, that the bags hold their value when you decide to resell?

Umm I am not a reseller! And won’t buy from one ever. No, resellers are not me.

But then you’re taking it away from people like me who actually want these bags to treasure and keep forever!

I disagree that ‘a lot’ of people in this thread would ‘love to make a profit’. This forum is about people who love the brand and the products. Sure, it’s nice that the bags hold their value so that IF you decide to sell then you can get your money back but I think very few people are interested in achieving a profit apart from these resellers.

now we are just splitting hairs. That’s basically the point I was going for. “Resell” is obviously a triggering word in this thread so I probably shouldnt have used that word.
