Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I'm pissed off. I'm going to start posting text messages from a Sa that I probably referred a reseller or ps from off this platform. I THOUGHT I was doing right by helping fonts in the thread I'm looking for this.....I saw the merchandise and pm the font. I had my own pictures and I contacted the Sa to see if the item is still available. I contacted the wrong Sa who responded back and sent me pictures of the same item different handle same color. The first Sa responded back and I told them I'm referring someone. This font pmd me back saying they are interested in the second bag also. Sa number one is asking me the fonts name which I find odd???!!!!. Sa number one texts me back that this person isn't giving their name. I'm like WTF???? Now I see why @nat74 is being cautious of giving out Sa information. This font is probably not local to the two areas I gave information to. My Sa number one is going to tell me how this plays out when I had to apologize and tell her I have no intention of sending resellers or ps to her. giphy (2) (18).gif

I’ve seen a few posts in this thread (and forum) suggesting the unusual proportion of men clientele in stores making purchases, standing in lines, etc. I would not doubt that some may be part of a reselling network.

However, I am not sure I would characterize Chanel as just a brand for women, as there are products for men (in some collections) and products that could be considered unisex.

Some men have fallen in love with the Chanel brand too (see thread: Guys/Men’s Chanel Club). Some men shop for themselves/own collection and build their own relationships with SAs. So, just sharing this in the spirit of inclusivity (and in case they’re reading). ❤

I agree many men do wear the brand too, however you can generally tell those guys apart from the resellers because they will be actually trying on items, engaging with their SA and probably not just buying a caviar CF, WOC, card holder and Cjs all at the same time just shopping from a list of images.

I think the staff can tell the difference between these guys too, the suggestion I’m making is that the reselling males out number genuine male clients by quite a lot.

I am so upset and very disappointed
After waiting for 6 weeks to find out that I wouldn’t be able to get my mini caramel ( dream bag) . I texted and let my SA that I have known for quite sometime super early and she said she will put me on list. I only contacted her because I wanted to get a bag from her . I keep texting her every week to see if any update and what # am on the list etc… She keep telling me she haven’t get lookbook yet but my name will be on the list . 2 days ago I just got closures answer ( well because I asked ) that she only got a few in and I have #8 so she doesn’t think she would be able to get it for me because it doesn’t look those front people would pass and tell me to wait for next season if that color come back again. Like WTH? I was shock!! And thought I should be somewhere on the top of the list. The fact that I am very upset is she didn’t tell me what # I am the list , keep avoiding giving me straight answer , didn’t give me a reason why the hell i am on #8 when I texted her super early and alway reminding her that I want that color , drag me around with her til it is too late to try to get it from other SAs. Now I am start to see reseller jack up the price and was able to get those hard to find bags easily make me more mad .

What's unfortunate is getting bumped down the priority list for a bag, especially if you texted your SA months in advance about it and indicated serous interest. The stories about getting bumped by a VIP spender are frustrating...imagine reaching out to your SA after a show letting them know you're interested in XYZ bag and then you find out months later you're now at the bottom of the list because a bigger spender decided they wanted the bag so you got bumped. It really should be first come, first serve for fairness.

Yep that was my situation. I feel exhausted chasing around the bag that I really want along time and was thinking all along , had hope up that I will get the bag but at the end what I got is heart breaking. Sad but true !

I’m a bit confused.. you are saying someone reach out to you for an item you post but that person use your picture n watermark with their ID n started posting it for sale before even getting their hands on the item?

No. I reached out the font. They was looking for a item in the thread on this platform. I gave them the picture of the bag I took at the boutique to show my Sa who had the same picture from me. I told this font to tell the Sa I'm referring them which apparently this font did but wouldn't give their name to the Sa which is letting me know that this font is using this platform to find merchandise and Sa information. My Sa is asking me questions like do I know this person's name? Where do I know this person from? I'm like OK this font if they are not locally to pay cash for the merchandise they are not willing to do a phone purchase with the payment link. My Sa is telling me the font is thinking about purchasing. I'm like ok let me go and blast this font out and I will post all text messages. What a mess. And I read through the threads of resellers and ps shoppers but I try to give people the benefit of doubt.

Now you know why I ignored so many people…:P

I’m kinda disappointed with my SA too. I texted him asking if it’s possible to put my name on the waiting list if there is any fro swimsuits. And he answered me that no because these are sold out everywhere. Later on I contacted customer support on Chanel website and they checked stock and gave me the address of the store which one has it. I called the store and turned out that they have only top but not the bottom. But I was told they might receive it in few weeks. As a new customer I have a feeling that Chanel doesn’t care about new customers and only cares about vips.

‘Speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, some resellers told Reuters they're hiring "line standers" for a fee of up to $125 a day to stand in queues or enter stores on their behalf.

One reseller in his 30s told Reuters he's been reselling his purchases at usually more than 20% profit - and it can be far more profitable when inventory level is low.

He said he sold a Chanel flap card holder recently on secondhand marketplace app Karrot for nearly 1 million won, 40% above its retail price - five minutes after it went up for sale.

($1 = 1,223.8700 won)

Well there you go. Resellers are paying people
to stand in line. Not fair for people who genuinely want the product for their own use.
