I believe they’ve all finished drying... I am very happy with how the 2005 leather turned out. It feels much softer and hydrated, and the yellowing has been helped very much, only still remaining on some top panel portions. I was really impressed so I tried it out on a few agneau bags and I was really blown away at the transformation. My spring 11 Grenadine city had faded to basically a white and after a few coats it’s feels so much softer and the color has almost returned to its original state, even the patina on the handles look much cleaner. And the same with my ss10 papete city.. the fade wasn’t anyway near as severe, but still the color looks much more saturated and the leather looks and feels much more hydrated. My black city too feels a lot cleaner. You’ve all been extremely helpful... Thank you all very much. I can’t wait to use these bags again after a long time of not reaching for them as much..
That Grenadine looks amazing and so do the other two Bals!

I hope I can also ask generic rehab questions? I have a bag and it's faded and worn to death red and I would love it to be bright red again. From skipping on internet I figured out that my options are either a coloured shoepolish or dyeing the bag.

I read that a lot of you are in favour of the shoepolish, but why exactly is that? And if I'd take that route, how save would the colour be? Wouldn't it transfer to my clothes or and hoe would it end up in the rain?

I love to wear this bag in the summer, so there will be a lot of brushing up very light coloured clothes and be worn in the heat. In the winter it must sustain lots of rain.

My first guess was that a dye would give off less transfer but maybe that is also the case with polish? I don't mind messing up a black bag, worn with a black coat over a black jumper but a red bag and cream blazer are very different.

I also read something about wax buildups and that that should be prevented, but isn't the collonil pro spray also a waxy layer? And if you want to prevent that, what kind of leather protector is advised?

I'm so sorry for being all over the place but first I read up on things, fell into a rabbit hole of information and I now seem to miss some parts of it. I feel like a toddler with all my "why's" but I really hope you can help. The bag is thick grained cowskin, I don't know if that matters.

Hello. So I purchased a re-dyed Balenciaga for USD55. I thought its cheap and bought it. It used to be dark green. Now it is navy blue. The owner said it was a 2011 Bal city. The bag still feels soft but it is dehydrated and looks really dry. There are also dye patches that fall off.

What should I do about thus bag? Thanks.

Another Q..
I have a Motocross Classic Day (if my memory serves me right) and the strap is just so awful. I'm not stuck with either (a) having this strap repaired and restored (either by removing the garter/thread at the bottom part and asking shops to smoothen or do a fix) or (b) cutting out the excess leather that's attaching to the strap-ring and use a generic nylon strap

What are your thoughts?

That’s a men’s Day. Have you considered just having the webbing removed from the back of the strap? It’s a thick leather strap even without the backing on it. Or you could have a cobbler replace the webbing, perhaps with felt. I’d repair the original strap rather than replace it.

Thought of removing the back part and maybe asking someone to smoothen it out a bit and maybe put some leather finishing since there are weird marks at the back part (i somehow peeked into it) haha. Maybe i'll just save this bag. This kinda feels too big for a messenger for me already

If you’re not looking for cross body the women’s Day is another option.

Haha! Im just trying to revive my old bags.. just pulled the webbings off and told myself "why didnt I do this any sooner?".. well, it's ok to use as is, but maybe you're right, the good ol' leather shop might be able to do some tweaks here.. my bag is super old and I was thinking of selling it. Not anymore I guess lol

Help! My most used bag - this navy blue mini city - has a big scuff on one corner!! I bought it last December. What can I do to fix this or at least not make it worse?
I stopped using it for a while now that there’s a big scuff. TIA!0E2EEF51-4C3C-4D51-BEBD-570A62F33C6F.jpeg

Does anyone have any suggestions for products to use to protect against UV rays/sunlight? I have a lot of light colored bals so i was thinking of getting something to protect against fading. But also was mainly going to use this on my sapphire day i recently got because i’ve just read it fades quite a bit, but it is a dark color. Any suggestions or anyone know what’s safe to use for the lambskin?
TIA !

I’ve read on here LMB has good protectors for sunlight and UV rays, does anyone know exactly which product, and have experience with using it on the bal lambskin?

Hi, I hope this topic hasn't been posted already but I couldn't see anything from the sticky threads or from scrolling through a couple of pages of posts so apologies if this has been discussed to death.

I've just had my second hand Motorcycle City authenticated (yay! Thanks to @ksuromax) and I might be wrong but the leather seems like it hasn't been properly cared for and is awfully cracked. I've got a mini as well that my sister bought me years ago and it's smooth. There are so many leather conditioner products out there and some aren't suitable for certain types of leather.

I wondered if anyone could suggest a good leather restorer/conditioning product or anything in the UK you think might help restore the look of my bag? Thanks in advance!
