Added to that they should know their product! When our Nordstrom opened up here in Vancouver I naturally bee lined it to the Bal counter and the SA there (and the next visit as well) was clueless about the brand. Compare that to Chloe...I purchased a pre-loved Paddington hobo that came without a key. When I contacted the company I was told it wasn't possible to get one. A couple of days later I received a phone call with an apology, and the key along with it's tassel was sent to me free of charge because someone had made an error saying it was unavailable. Now that's service.
That is great service indeed!

The edgecoat should take care of the handles really well.
does the edgecoat make a lasting repair?
I have a RM cupid. It had cracks on the edgecoat. I sent it to RM for repair and they didn't do a very good job. The handles are black and they had a think edgecoat of red. They sent it back with a black edgecoat. It seem like they went over the red. The black now had some white (?) showing in spots. My DH has a vinyl dye product we can use to dye the white spots but if the edgecoat really works I may buy it on Amazon.

Hi,

Just got my first preloved, like new motorcycle city from Yoogi's, and I'm noticing something strange with the corners.

I didn't notice this happening until I conditioned the bag a few times. All of the sudden there's a sticky gray substance on the piping on one side of my bag. (See pictures above) It looks to me like it might be coming from the edges where the leather is sewn together. Does anyone have experience with this? There was only some minor fading on the corners when I got it, and I've only had the bag for two weeks. I'm very careful with it. Is it possible that I over conditioned? And is there a way to fix it? I've tried the apple cleanser but no luck. Takes a tiny bit of the color off too, so I won't be using it again. Help!

Hello Ladies,

I am just wondering if anyone of you have sent their bags to Balenciaga for spa/repair/restoration? Are they good? How long did it take and how much you were charged?

Thanks!

Hi!

I just sent a purse in for restoration. The ebay advertisement said "Excellent Condition" But I think it's more of a "Very Good Condition". Normally, it takes a few days to get oil stains out from the leather. Anywhere from 1 week light usage to 4-6 weeks for heavy usage. I am from Toronto, Canada. I used LoveYourPurse in Toronto and other one that is in Lewiston, NY, LovinMyBag.

My heavily used one is like buying a new purse $1200 - Restoration which included new lining, new zipper tabs, piping repair etc. Moderate Usage: Oil Stained handles start at $225

In hind sight, I think I would just restore the purse myself unless I needed a new liner or dye or deep stain removal.

Hope this helps.

Hi!

Is it possible that the edges have edging glue come off? On my pre-loved Balenciaga bag, I noticed edge kote or some sort of leather glue which is a brown colour on an ivory coloured bag. What are you using to condition your bag?

Wow that's alot. I am curious how well Balenciage restore their bags. They are so strict that they will only accept the bag if you have the original receipt. Or do they just send it to a third party leather repair shop. Hmmm...

Just bought my first Balenciaga Day from eBay, the tassels were all split and one broken, and leather at either end one of the buckled pieces starting to split. I've glued the tassels (doing an inch or so at a time) and splits back together using Bostick leather glue, given it a light going over with Collonil 1909 leather lotion and sprayed it with Collonil waterstop. Really pleased with how it turned out, hoping to get many years out of it!

Thanks, this post and ManillaMama's earlier post on Collonil Carbon Pro have helped me decide to try Conollil on my bags. Ordering right now on Amazon. Am still wondering about that Zelikovitz Top Coat for corners etc but can't seem to find it in the EU. Maybe Collonil is enough.

I just found Fiebing's on Amazon here in the EU, as well as Angelus. I think both of these would do as well as Zelikovitz. Now, just to try and decide in which order to use this product. I'm thinking first Conollil Leather Cream 1909. It's got great reviews on Amazon. Then, I don't know. Top coat or the Collonil Carbon Pro. Probably the Carbon Pro last?

I always procrastinate when there's a risk I'll destroy something, in this case my bags. I now have the Collonil Leather cream and the Carbon Pro (thanks ManilaMama). There's nothing really keeping me from getting started with the cream but I'm telling myself I'm waiting for the Angelus Acrylic paint
