THANKS ROO for that info. maybe i'll just keep it and get it fixed. also, i already cut off the tag! do you think that matters?

thanks again for all the support!

I called this morning and David picked up. He told me that I need to speak to the buyer, Brandy, who won't be in until Monday...so I left her a message. David was super nice about it, which I glad! I'll keep everyone posted!

Hello everyone. First of all, I would like to thank everyone for all of your support and help throughout this ordeal! :p

So I took it to the cobbler/purse repair recommended by Nordstroms in my area. I walked in, and the wall was lined with coach, LV, and Chanel purses. OK, good sign!!!

The guy took one look at my bag and said, "sorry, can't really do anything about that. It's not really a rip, because it's not really completely through the leather...see how the the lining doesn't show. It's just a really deep scratch." The only thing he did was put a teeny tiny bit of clear "cement", let it semi-dry, and then asked me to used my fingers to push down the frayed edges. He also said that based on how the scratch looks, it's most likely a part of the marbleling/veins, but that it was probably too dry so it "cracked"...just like I suspected.

Total Cost....$0.
(I guess i don't have to get shirise to reimburse me for that! how about gas money, which is ridiculous right now in LA! haha).

Now the deep scratch at least lies down flat, so it's less noticeable, but still there! Am I just being super anal and OCD-ish? I guess I can accept the purse as is, considering I got it for 50% off. But still....it kinda bugs me, but not enough that I want to return it to Shirise. Also, I already put a microscopic portion of "cement" on it, so they probably won't take it back.

THOUGHTS?

Are you happy with the resolution? Or lack there of? If you don't want to send it back, and can live with the imperfection, then I'd let it go. If it bugs you and you want another shrug, I'd ask them to get you a different one. All depend how you feel about the bag, as is.

i am sorta unhappily with the lack of resolution. I guess it's pretty frustrating.

Well, supposedly the cement ensures that the scratch won't eventually become a rip. i think i'll just keep it. it just seems so much trouble to send it back to shirise! luckily the scratch is on the back.

the only thing the cobbler said to me was, "don't look at the scratch!" LOL. NOT helpful!

If you think it will prevent you from being happy with the bag send it back. Otherwise too much time will pass and if you are not wearing it you will get even more irritated.
Sleep on it? No, not sleep on the bag, I mean think about it..

you know what, i'm just going to keep it, though i don't know how it will do if i decide to sell it for a cornflower city. like would anyone want to buy a bag with this deep scratch on the back?

I'm in a similar situation and I would send it back for a replacement. I was hoping that your cobbler could repair it. Definitely contact Brandi/Shirise and see about a replacement because it doesn't sound like you are too happy with the outcome. I know I wouldn't be and for how much you paid, you deserve a bag w/o any damage.

oh, didi, sorry to hear about the outcome. it really isn't that noticeable, but i know... it's the fact that it's there. for what it's worth your shrug is still beautiful. keep us posted.
