Regrets, I've had a few...

I shouldn't have bought......
my YSL Muse (the first one).....It was much too classic for me....I gave it to my best friend....I just couldn't get used to it.....

And...I should have bought
the Fendy Spy
the Chloé Paddington.... when they came out....

Those were great bags....but I saw them everywhere at the time....
And today...I have other bags in mind....like the Givenchy Pandora....

my biggest regret would be picking the suede lining vintage gucci bag, it looked amazing when i first got it but after a while it came off on all my belongings, i got a blue dust all over my phone, my purse and everything including my hands when i pick something up from my bag, even got it on my face a few times from my hands and that was a bit silly, the outside still looks stunning but the inside is beyond repair i guess, I use a purse organizer to keep things under control and bush inside my bag with a stiff brush and hoover after, yes now i have to hoover my bag and my house ... fun!! but to be honest, i think Gucci vintage last a long time, i wish the lining inside wasn't suede, that way it could have last a lot longer with no blue dust on my everything!

Not taking care of my Mulberry taupe Shimmy better. I used it to carry around heavy textbooks in college, and as a result it's completely beaten up now - the leather on the bottom piping has worn through so that you can see the plastic piping inside, and the metal tag is all scratched up  It's really too beat up to carry around in public anymore, I need to get it repaired but I don't have a Mulberry store nearby... If only I had taken better care of it in the first place!

I'm regretting the purchase of a Paulina Carcach bag off Etsy. The lambskin leather was beautiful but not at all suited to carry anything but a cell phone and maybe a lipstick - but it was a large satchel bag. After maybe 10 wears, the leather started ripping at the handles. I contacted them and they said they would "repair it". Yeah as if that would have worked, the problem was the bad conception of the bag.

On the bright side, i gave it to a family member that is not very well off and she was absolutely thrilled, she's getting the handles re inforced and promised me she won't carry a lot of stuff around :)

Buying cheap and not really looking to buy one nice everyday designer bag. I have so many cheap laying around that go unused, I could've at least bought a Coach or something. :graucho:

I donated all of mine and then started getting really nice leather ones. :-)

Hmmmm that really stinks I have bought a few bags from etsy and as nice and they look they don't have the same quality as a designer bag. Which seems to be a shame considering they look soooooo nice. Would you buy from them again?

Certainly not since I've meanwhile found my true love of artisanal leather bags made in Colombia :)
I think while the intentions of these little Etsy stores are good, they don't have the experience or the equipment to provide good quality products which is my absolute top criterium for buying anything..

I regret 'settling' for lesser bags, rather than buying the one I really wanted. I also regret impulse buys. I've wasted a lot of money over the years.

I have learnt by experience and love every bag in my small collection

Have you tried any other Etsy bagmakers? Just curious.

as Mulberry fan, I regret buying Mulberry Alexa...I sold it at once, so papery, low quality, strap worse than Target bags....I saw my student with Alexa copy which was 100 times nicer and better leather

and when I lost bidding on Fendi parchment (whipstitch) small clutch in red, did not buy it on Overstock either...nowhere to find it today any more

This is random but I'm just curious. Did you ever want a bag so bad before but didn't get to buy and it's all sold out now?

My biggest regret would have to be Kate Spade's Five Points Camille. It's a functional and multi-tasking bag. I think it's sold out everywhere :(

Care to share your own bag stories?
