Hopefully someone can help me name this pattern- I'm at work so I can't post pics right now, but if my description is confusing then I'll add photos when I get home. This was the first Hermes item I ever bought- a gavroche. Mine is black with ivory contrast hem and print. The pattern is of squares each inside of the other, and along the border of each square is a horse doing a different gate and the name in french- Trot, Sauter, Galop, etc. I know this comes in several other CWs as well as twilly and 90cm but I don't know name/artist/original issue- any ideas? Thanks!

There is a scarf I saw in a post lastnight...orange/fuschia hues and a bit of an abstract rough paintbrush strokes that seem to outline an eiffel tower... Anyone know what I am talking about?

Also, is the les triples no longer available in stores? was it made in the turquoise colourway? If no longer available, how much would you connoisseurs value it at?

And...what colourways was the courbettes made in?

And (last one I promise!!!) what is the name/date of a scarf that was designed by karine swindens - looks to be of birds/arabian daggers? What were the issued colourways for this?

The first one you are talking about is "La Tour Eiffel S'Envoile".

sorry I can't help you with your other questions.

it is called Allures, and was not widely stocked in US stores so dont know much

Allures probably did not get wider circulation since it is such a simple motif & only 2 colors (the field and design), most colorways did not even have a contrast hem. IMHO (although you do not have to agree with me) not one of the more collectible designs :crybaby:

You have a good point, Marie. It is a very simple design, so I can see how it's not too collectible, especially when compared to some of the intricate works of art that other H scarves are.

It DOES not mean that it is isn't a smashing scarf but I think

1. there are only so many permutations that can be manufactured of the 2 color scarves, let's see there is black & white then white & black etc:graucho:

2 Widely different designs, Champs de Course & horsies & de Passage a Tokyo - urban jungle, look similar folded

Herems scarves to me (no one has to agree with this...) are expensive because of the quality production technique (which is not taxed by 2 color scarves) and by intricate designs, which can sometimes be lost if you wear a scarf folded up . I like them all wadded up at the neck - Beau Brummel style - so, I buy completely busy all over:yahoo: designs eg Mosaique au 24

But, the 2 color designs do look strikingingly crisp !

The scarf is Ludovicus Magnus (Louis the Great, ie Louis XIV) by Francoise de la Perriere. The design dates to 1963. Try looking in the lower right corner for the signature. It might not be copyrighted if it is an original issue form 1963
I picked up a used Ludovicus Magnus pale blue scarf which is signed F. de La Perriere in the bottom right. You say that yours are not, does this mean that the one I have is fake?
Do they make fake Ludovicus Magnus scarves? There is no care label on it. Although everything else is right.

Thanks for any help as I would like to sell it and want to be sure.
