I have another question regarding hand washing H silk scarves.
I've successfully washed my 90 cms by hand with cold, cold water and baby shampoo, but they're all newer silks, from over the past 3 years.
I'm looking at purchasing some older issues from a collector on ebay, who's never worn the scarves but has kept them safely in their boxes. The person seems to be someone who greatly values the collection.
Anyway, I wear all of my silks, but I really don't want to purchase the older ones if I can't wash them by hand instead of dry cleaning.
I've heard that the older dyes tend to bleed.

Does anyone know around what year H started using different dyes that tend not to bleed?
I'd greatly appreciate it if any of you H scarf experts out there have an answer.
Many thanks in advance!

Can anyone let me know on the durability of the Summer Twill vs normal silk twill scarves? I have found a beautiful 140 size scarf in Summer Twill, however I have never owned this type of silk before, so am wondering if it's easier to snag etc. I take care with my scarves, but don't really baby them.

TIA

I don't find them to be particularly delicate - in my experience, they are MUCH better than the cashmeres, probably the same as the twills, but they do not tend to snag at all.

I bought a Feux de Route original 1971 issue earlier today. It has a brown/gold/off white colorway. It was listed as rare, and I indeed can't find that colorway anywhere else except on a sold listing on Malleries from Carre de Paris. I know the design was reissued in 95/96. I looked on luxury-scarves and one other site for that colorway but it wasn't listed there, either. Did I fall for a fake? I hope not. It's my first Hermes scarf.:sweatdrop:

I thought it was real since it was on Malleries, as I've purchased several things from there lately and they've all been exactly as listed.
