Rediscovering Marc Jacobs vintage

I’m loving seeing this resurgence of MJ bags as of late and have been grabbing so many on resale to add to my collection. I previously collected vintage Coach where there are catalogs to refer to, I wish there was something similar for reference for us. For instance, I’m carrying this bag today but can’t find anything about the name and can only find one other listed in a different colorway, which I bought. 🤦‍♀️
I’ve made a group on FB dedicated to Y2K Marc Jacobs and once it’s up and running I’m going to make it public- I’d love all of you to join so we can have a sort of place to reference photos, models, etc. Plus, who doesn’t love eye candy? 😍
I love this idea. Unfortunately, as you know, so many of the photos that were posted back in the day are no longer viewable, but this forum used to be the source for everything. I think some of us members from back then can help with identifying styles and colors. I still know most of them. Can’t wait for your FB group to launch.
my first MJ bag was burgundy So Cool Blake (like yours?)
I have a black Blake which I will probably keep forever and a Sofia in Spearmint which I'm trying to sell due to being too small.
I had a navy Stella and a Peacock one which I sold due to being too large/heavy. Also had a black Angie back in the day.
Yes, I have the So Cool and the calf Bordeaux Blakes as well. You had some great bags! Spearmint is such a lovely turquoise shade. I loved the contrast stitching on the navy and peacock bags in Fall ‘04. MJ did the most fabulous things with colors.

Ugh, I’ve noticed that so many of the photos aren’t around anymore! 🥹 it is my hope that a lot of people will know names that I don’t and cannot find!
I’ve just made it unhidden, it’s a private group- when I set it up I didn’t realize I couldn’t make it public later so here we are. 😆 but if you search “Vintage & Y2K Marc Jacobs” it should pop up and I’ll accept! At least now I know you can’t change that setting for future reference. 🤦‍♀️

I'd love to join!!

The group is live if ya wanna join! Just search “Vintage & Y2K Marc Jacobs” and it should pop up! I posted this there but also posting here just in case anyone recognizes either of these- I found it in purple/tan leather as well and can’t find a thing about these and it’s driving me crazy! Love them though!

Gorgeous! I love the tortoiseshell accents. Is it very heavy?
Sorry missed this before! I wouldn’t say “very” heavy, but i can’t lie, it’s definitely not the lightest in its empty state. I’ve heard stams are quite heavy too so I’d be curious to compare when I get my hands on one.

I haven’t had a chance to carry it out with things inside which I assume will make it actually heavy, but removing the chain strap (stunning as it is) should help lighten it a bit

I have this bag as well and it is heavy but the weight isn't horrible on the shoulder

My new to me bag. The seller did not lie. It’s in like new condition. Love it. The leather is very forgiving. This will easy last another decade 😆. Does somebody knows the style? When I ask chat gpt there only comes stam 🫣👀

You’re quite welcome! 💕 So the “R” means it was from the resort collection and the “06” means 2006. I tried to find photos but came up empty. This is what I could find from the Bal Harbour collection. I think it might be the “Bal Harbour.”View attachment 6184109
You rock!!! Thank you so much!! Wow. It’s close to 20 years old. My guess was 10 years
