So, I tried again. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I could remove the last polish. I've applied Envelope Please this time.....I'm finding it tricky capping my short nails. I used nail forms this time but managed to get gel underneath some of my nails and still struggled with capping the ends. I think I could do with applying another coat of colour - do I apply this then a top coat on top of my existing mani or do I need to put base coat on top of the top coat which is already there?

I have either just applied color then top coat or lightly buff top coat then apply color and top coat. I have found if I lightly buff the top coat I get longer wear and soak off is much easier because its not penetrating through 2 separate top coats. I haven't ever applied base coat first though on top of an existing mani so I don't know how well that works HTH! :)

I can't believe how many polishes I have already after only having the system for a couple of months - it's certainly very addictive. I've also bought in loads of pretty glitters, so have so many colour combinations! I have managed to swatch them all on colour pops though, so that makes the decision making so much easier! :)

hi all, i plan to buy this as a present for someone who'll be going overseas...

have tried contacting the main site, but have had no response.. would someone be able to tell me what is the input/output source (AC power) for the pro kit light?

many thanks

Base is supposed to bond the nautral nail plate to the color layer, so I wouldn't bother ..... I've never even tried either, since I don't think it would make much difference. I also buff away the shine on the top layer like pinkprinces mentioned as I have had chipping of the added layer when I don't. So it's a few extra minutes on one end or the other - buffing your top coat initally or if not, you'll likely spend those extra minutes on your soak off. Either way will work for awhile.

It comes with a detachable power pack, typical 100-240v input and 12v output 2-prong US style plug .... if you buy from a US site. They do sell RCM overseas so I imagine if depending on where you ordered from, it might come with something different?

I too suffer from the same problem because I have short nails. @Flmermaid and @pinkprincess777Your information was great and I will be truly applying it in the future. Thank you ladies :)

Thanks for your help :smile1:

But what have I done now??!! Just redone my nails in daylight...I have dodgy eyes so need good light....the brushes in the structure and brilliance have gone all stiff.....I'd only done about two nails when it happened. Guess it's started to cure? The brushes are tricky to use now. Is there anything I can do apart from get new bottles of each? What a nerd....

If I do my nails under a electric light will it cure or is it just sunlight that has that effect?

Thank you...again

Only the sun or uv light will cure. You can soak your brushes in pure acetone to try to remove cured product sometimes it will take a full day of soaking

If acetone doesn't clean the brushes, you can still use the product by using a small brush. I bought a bunch together in a package in the craft section of Wal-Mart. Look for one with bristles that reminds you of a nail polish brush. Pour a bit of the product onto a small piece of foil and you are good to go. Clean your brush with acetone followed by alcohol. Dip it into the liquid and then brush against a lint free pad or bit of fabric. I also clean mine again in alcohol immediately before use. I would have two brushes--one for each product.

Sunlight will cure SOGS as will some lamp bulbs--particularly LED. Polishing in bright sunlight is not a good idea. If you want to test a lamp. Put a small amount of SOG on a piece of foil and let it sit under the lamp for a few minutes. If it starts to cure, find another lamp.

Good luck.

Ok thanks. Now for the next silly question.....

I take my brushes out of the bottles and soak in acetone for (say) a day.....can I just leave the bottles of product in a darkened place with no tops on?

Sorry....I'm new to this and want to get it right! Loving having groomed nails for the first time in 42 years.....

It get's more complicated by the minute! Thanks for the advice :smile1:
