Hello, I'm newbie from the UK. Just got my RCM kit from QVC and used it for the first time. Wow! Never had gel nails before.....I'm very impressed. This place has been a complete godsend, I've learned so much already.

My nails are short and I struggled capping the ends a bit. One is beginning to look as if it might need a touch up at the very end.....is that advisable? Do I need to do the whole process?

Thanks in anticipation.....

Oh, and one more question.....how do you go on with toes? I can just about get my foot under the LED light but the very edges weren't properly cured. Is there a trick? Can I just hold the light a bit above my foot?

You can gently file the area you want to touch up. Clean with alcohol. Apply the color. You may be able to get away with just touching up the affected area. Wait a few seconds before curing so it can self-level. If it isn't perfect after curing, add another coat of your color to the entire nail. Cure. Add top coat to the entire nail and cure. Remove the sticky layer.

You can put the light over the first 2 toes then the last 3 toes to see if that cures it if it doesn't I wouldn't use it on your toes until you can get a larger UV lamp that would fit your foot so you don't risk under curing and becoming allergic

Has anyone seen RCM at Bed Bath and Beyond? The RCM website says they sell it there (when I put in my zip code), buy they don't show it on the BBB website. Also my Target doesn't have it, although I can find it on Target online.

I haven't. It's my understanding that only select Bed, Bath and Beyond stores have something like a beauty product section - the stores in my area do not have that section, so I am not really expecting to.

Not sure if the Targets will be "select stores only" also but even so the roll out does seem to be happening gradually and started fairly recently. Mine is a Super Target, not sure if that makes any difference. And while they do have RCM, it's not the full product line.

It looks like you did a fine job. Especially for a first manicure, I would not have guessed that it was your first try. When you are using acrylics, you get used to seeing your nails long and being able to use them as virtually indestructible tools. The gel polish is not like that, but it is sooo much healthier for your nails and will be something you can do for yourself. Short nails are in style right now, so throw on the most daring of colors and flaunt your shiny new nails!

Thank you again.. I've had a nail obsession for years so.. I didn't expect this to be much different.. I have over 250 regular bottles of polish.. I did nails back in high school.. It's just as I've gotten older the hands aren't as steady.. I can feel some rough spots but over all I think for a first time it's pretty good.. I agree I do enjoy shorter nails considering I type a lot for work..

Well, this is definitely addicting... it's good you realize that going in to it. I thought I had alot of polishes before, there seems to be no end to how many I think I need. And the ladies here are very enabling, but in the most loving way, of course.
