Really???? I would think they would all have the same clearance price because they have already been marked down on Ulta.com.

They're half gone on ULTA.com already! Went to get It's A Champagne Night if it was only gonna be $4 but all that was left was the red and the gold.

One whole nail peel off by me just picking up my ipad. I did not see any lifting before that happened. Then most of them were starting to lift off. I purchase the RCM pro kit at Ulta. I thought I had cleaned my nails really good before applying. I may try again this weekend. Hopefully with better results.

If you got any polish touching your skin and didn't clean it up before curing - sidewalls or cuticles - it will peel.

That stinks! If they have it in my ulta this weekend I'll pick it up for you if you want. Just let me know :)

I got 2 polishes that were $4.99 from the 4 limited edition display!! There were no signs about the sale either1! I took em to the register and they rang up on sale and I had my 15% off entire purchase too, so I was happy!!! Had it not been for this site, I wouldn't have known they're in sale though!! I got My thank you speech and I can't believe it!

From what I've read they're actually both (gelish and RCM) manufactured by the same company and the same formula. The only real difference is one is marketed to pros and the other to DIYers. I have several of both brand as well as the base and top coat for each and they feel exactly the same to me. Even if cured longer the thickness in coats will effect the look and feel and wear of the final product. The thicker the layers, the less time you'll get out of the manicure and generally more lifting/peeling. Plus you don't want to risk putting the layers on too thick and not curing properly which can result in an allergy to gels. you're better off doing extra coats and making them super thin than doing less and making them thicker IMO. I prefer the gel to be thinner and more natural looking/feeling but some do prefer the thickness and just apply additional goats or gelish structure. Some of the ladies here do find that dry brushing the base coat does help with shrinkage in application, I font think it can hurt to try :). Good luck and I hope you get better results next time!!!

I know they're made by the same company but RCM's Midnight Affair feels very thin for me. I did 2 coats of Gelish Bella's Vampire topped with Tumberline Violet and it was pretty thick and it lasted a long time.

But 2 coats of Midnight Affair and 1 of I Can't Believe It and I'm holding my breath thinking my nails will bend. With that Gelish, my nails felt like a window. The color blue is amazing but my nails don't feel the protection of gel.

I don't know what it is but I feel a noticeable difference.

It depends on the color within each brand. Some of them are super thick and some are much thinner. You'll see that with a lot of them I have about a dozen RCM colors and half are thin and half are thick, same with the dozen or so gelish colors I have, some are thin and some are thick. I can't find any rhyme or reason to which will be thin and which will be thick it doesn't seem to be all the cream colors or all the metallics, for instance. The only brand that I've found so far that has been consistent for me is shellac, again I have about a dozen of those colors and they are all the same consistency.

I agree 100%!

Thanks, that's sweet ... but I'm gonna check out my store tomorrow. I had already talked myself out of it until it went on sale, so I don't know how bad I need that color anyway.

No problem! If you change your mind just pm me :)

I'm seeing that now. Today I switched a bottle of 9 Inch Heels because of the stubby brush and I'm sure the stubby brush bottle I returned was thicker than the black brush bottle I have now.

That's so weird that it's a hit or miss like that.

Yeah, it is hard to tell and frustrating sometimes. I have 9 inch heels with the original brush and mine seems thin too, same with my Midnight Affair. I bought My Inspiration and had to return it because application was a nightmare! It looked thick in the bottle at the store but as soon as I tried to apply it started running and pooling everywhere. Took me forever to polish my nails and then when I cured them every single one wrinkled! I ended up soaking it off immediately, doing another color and returning it the next day! But then on the other hand I have a bunch of RCM and gelish polishes that apply beautifully. Weird! The only brand that I feel confident buying every time is Shellac. I've never seen any difference in viscosity or application in any if them! I still love my RCM's and gelish colors but I do find that I stay away from some of mine due to the difference in thickness.

I think next time, I'll open the bottles and look for the stubby brush then just switch it with the regular brush. Normal brush, thicker polish in bottle if it's going to be like that. The clear brush works in full size bottles but short it's a pain unless it's a glitter color.

If you have ones with the stubby brush and you would prefer the old black brush you can contact their customer service and they'll send you extra old brushes. They mentioned this on their FB page a few weeks ago, I actually like the new brushes so I haven't called but they definitely said it on their page :)
