Thanks you so much for your quick response ferretkingdom! I'll either pick up some of the shimmery nail color from Sally's and use it as the second (or third) coat or figure out which red carpet shimmer color I need to get. I want to also find a neutral that will look good with my pale skin. Hopefully, I won't buy too many to find the right shade!!! I did shellac last year, but they filed my nails before painting them and I think that damaged them. Part of the reason I want to do it myself is that I'm hopeful I can cause less damage. THANK YOU again for answering my questions! I really appreciate it!!!

I don't remember what all colors Sally's has off the top of my head, but I don't think they have any of the glittery ones. Satrburst however is a sheer shimmery purple that works great over other colors. The aurora Fx if your sally's has them in. Vegas nights is a great silver holo glitter. Water field is another holo-y glitter. Good gossip is a red glitter, but a great layering one. I'm sorry I'm not sure od all the RCM eqivalents. Some are listed in the dupes list in my signature though. I know glitterazzi is a dupe for gelish champagne and is beautiful!

Midnight Affair, 3 coats to get the darkness. the lighter blue is with the flash, this shows you the shade of blue, but it really appears darker with three coats, more like the one without the flash. The sparkle is from my spectraflair topcoat, this color is a creme. The accent nail is my foil called Rainbow Drops. I got my stuff from dollarnailart.com yesterday and had to play. I think with the foils you can't expect perfection, you have to be OK with wrinkles, it's kinda like working with the metal leaf!

Nail Foils are really tricky but your nails look great!

I hadn't paid much attention to the DIY Gelish soak-off nail polish at Sally's until I heard about the Red Carpet Manicure deal at Ulta. Just saw the prices for their minis are $12.95 WITH the Sally discount! The Red Carpet minis are 9.99 before any coupon or sale, etc... The prices on the base and top coats are lower too. NOW I'm understanding why people are excited.:) Looking forward to receiving my order from Ulta!

The RCM isn't that much cheaper than the other brands if you take into account the size of the bottles. They are the same size as the mini gelish sold at Sally's, and actually made by the same company it appears. I think it's really nice to have local, see it in person options! I hope they make more colors available that way.

At both of my ultas they have the RCM on the endcap of an aisle right at the front of the store. The SA's seem to know very little about it though, and the one I was just asking to see didn't even know you had to use the base and topcoat with the colors.

Thanks so much for all the info :hugs:
