wow im so excited about this! I was about to order a $200 lamp & kit . I just tried to order RCM at Ulta.com though and they say its sold out :( im so glad u guys all say it works just as good as the expensive gels :yes:

The RCM isn't that much cheaper than the other brands if you take into account the size of the bottles. They are the same size as the mini gelish sold at Sally's, and actually made by the same company it appears. I think it's really nice to have local, see it in person options! I hope they make more colors available that way.

At both of my ultas they have the RCM on the endcap of an aisle right at the front of the store. The SA's seem to know very little about it though, and the one I was just asking to see didn't even know you had to use the base and topcoat with the colors.

I'm glad I didn't end up gatting it since I have princess tiara already. Eco deco purple is a lavender. I didn't notice it faded when I wore it. I think I have swatches posted here on the forum somewhere. Or at least in my nail photos album.

I think the idea was a front and center display when you walk in since it should be their "hot new item", but that was an epic fail IMO. Lol. The lack of knowledge makes it worse. My Ulta also knew nothing about the pro led lamp. Sigh.

Nail Art Update:

Good news and bad news.... The nail art on my thumb lifted and peeled. I filed it off, added another coat of polish and TIO and it looks like new again. I think it lifted because I actually capped the end of the nail with the craft paint.... My ring finger has held up really nicely though, no lifting or chipping. So if you are going to try the craft paint nail art, I think avoiding the tip of your nails is going to be key. I have not yet experienced any of the dreaded "Violetta Darling" fading, but I have been avoiding going outside at all costs. It was over 105 and humid all last week.... I will keep an eye on it though.

Hello Lovlies,

Does anyone know if I can use CND Shellac base and top coat with RCM colors? Will I need to buy anything else to complete the maincure? Can I use the LED Light thats available at Ulta to cure the polish even if its not RCM?

You shoudl be able to interchange all of the SOG foundations and top coats with out any problems. The Ulta light should cure any other SOG that is LED curable.

If you are using CND Shellac products, I would stick with using a UV light, since it is hit-or-miss with Shellac and curing with an LED lamp. They have said that it is not LED-curable, but some users have some of the colors appear to cure with an LED, but not all. Now, any product that is marketed as LED-curable should cure with Ulta's LED lamp.

Thank You for the info. Do you know if UV lights are available at Ulta? What watt light should I buy?:sunnies
