What I was expecting was a leather a little like the Barenia or that natural calf that Celine has-only softer.

Does anybody know the difference between the normal Ricky and the soft Ricky beside the leather?
I found several ones that did not seem to be that soft but looked the same.

An SA told me the manufacturing was different. It takes 8 hours to make a Soft Ricky and 12 to make the classic one.The Classic Ricky is heavier. When you see the two models side by side, they are different.
The Classic looks more luxurious but I am not sure the huge price difference is justified.

The classic one is the one I sent back?
The hardware is not covered with leather and it comes only in black and brown, correct?
If I had loved the leather-that had been my personal justification for the extra $$:biggrin:
From the pictures they def. look a little more luxourious-but not irl:annoyed:
Still thinking about what they sent me-may be it was something different than the one I ordered....

I did some research and I found out that the soft Ricky must have come out 2013.
Before that there were other Rickys-how did they look like?

Hi! I wanted to share this amazing story from the Madison Avenue Ralph Lauren boutique.
I bought my Ricky on eBay for the price of about 400$, which was truly a great deal, but unfortunately it did not come with a clochette. When I visited te flagship RL store in NYC I wanted to check if they could sell me the clochette separately even though I knew they don't offer that. Lucky for me I ran into the loveliest SA- Asli, who surprisingly gave me one for free! She was so nice and I was truly touched by her kindness.
The bag in the picture is the one I purchased preloved- I guess it's at least 10 years old as it doesn't even have an option to attach a shoulder strap, and the clochette is brand new from the RL boutique!

That's really nice of her! I love visiting the Madison Ave boutique. They are all so friendly and welcoming there. Also, it is probably one of the most gorgeous stores I've ever been to! Your Ricky looks super stunning!
