I paid around $7500CAD - so that's like ~5500 USD... I was kinda wondering that about shearling.. though the entire outside of the bag is lambskin

Please don't be offend by my question: Why would you want to lose so much money - a price of a WOC plus exta shipping cost (seems you are in Canada) to sell such a rare and beautiful and look in new condition Chanel? that's way too much money to lose and doesn't make much sense to sell in my opinion unless you need that money or lack of space something?

bumping this old thread as I'd like some input;

I have a seasonal flap (I think from 21A) that is black lamb w/aged gold hardware and shearling under the flap/around the edges. Fashionphile offered me $3050 USD - should I take this? I've never really sold "seasonal" bags like this before and I was outta the game for a few years so I am not sure if this is a decent price or they are ripping me off lol
I think Fashionphile is offering you a fair price. Seasonal bags don't fetch as much at resale as the classics.

That’s a tough call. You have a much smaller market for that type of bag. You might be able to get 4000 usd on somewhere like eBay, but there’s really know way to know. Have you seen the bag for sale anywhere else?

Yeah, not sure I want to fuss with that - I haven't used eBay in years and not sure I even have an account anymore hah. I have not seen the bag anywhere else.. even when I bought it I was told Toronto only got 1 or 2 of them

My husband just bought me a M/L classic flap in black lamb with GHW.. I think the bags are too similar to keep both, I would prefer to put the funds towards something else - but I agree I was a little torn about it.. hmm

Thank you for your reply

FP quote is good for 30 days, so you should have time to send a request to quote with other sellers like Yoogi's, Ann's Fabulous Finds to see if you will get a better quote. I've sold seasonal bags and I've always lost money.

Oh thanks, I guess it won't hurt to try the other sites as well! I figured I would take a loss, just wasn't sure how much exactly

Yep, I felt like FP has been lowballing recently. I sold a few months ago and they were definitely the lowest. I got an extra $500 on one quote from rebag and an extra $400 on a separate item I sold via consignment through Ann's.

I got a quote back from Fashionphile recently on a pearl crush square mini (I believe it’s a seasonal but still neutral color). Their buyout price is $3300, which is way below retail, but the same bags on their site are in the low-to-mid $5000s right now.
On the other hand, the quote from ReBag is about $600 more (still below $4000)…
I’m waiting for Ann’s right now but wondering what should be a reasonable price nowadays for bags that cost more than $4500 from boutiques? :hrmm:

The price seems to fit their business model. You have to realize they list and then they slowly mark it for sale if it doesn't move..up to 30% off. They aren't going to lose money.

I also have noticed that if you sit on the rebag quote, after a week, they bump up the price maybe $75 - $100.

Thanks for the reply!

Sounds like I should wait on the ReBag quote and see how that number will change, but I might as well just hold on to the bag if it’s not even 80% of what I paid :hrmm:

Unfortunately with seasonal bags it won't be close to what you paid for. Unless it's like those crazy heart bags that were selling way over retail when they first released. Even now that craze seems to have died down a bit.

I am new here and want to sell a Chanel Navy caviar grand shopper tote which is in excellent condition. I used it twice. Where is the best place to sell this, where I can get the best
Price? RealReal and their 20% commission is ridiculous. Thank you in advance!!

You’re right. I guess the idea of “selling without much loss” nowadays is just not practical. The season might have played a role in the market too since mine is not a fall/winter tone but a spring/summer looking bag…

I would not consider 20% commission is ridiculous, and I have bought GST in black, beige, white from used to like new with box, dust bag, card for $800-$1,400.
