Jadelover, from a huge brand name place in Yunnan China, which shall remained unnamed except those who can read Chinese. Apparently it is a very well known shop that only sell As and trots out government certs. Most of the online reviews say they are indeed Grade A, but i am not sure. I also found an online review by a local Chinese buyer, and his story also gives some insights about this shop and how certs are done in China:

TRANSLATION:
My office organised a trip to Yunnan. Our tour guide said [this shop] sells only grade A. My colleague, whose son was born recently, decided to buy a pendant for RMB5800. Tour guide then brings us to another jade-related place, saying this is the place where all certs are issued. My colleague then showed one of the testers his jade piece. The guy checked using magnifying glasses and put it under lights etc, and then declared "This is a B. I have been a tester for a while, this much I can tell." My colleague was shocked and said, I bought it from [this shop], I thought they sell only Grade A?" The tester was speechless. Another tester near him then came over and said, "Maybe we ask another senior tester for his opinion, maybe we are not as experienced." They then went behind closed curtains to talk, and when they returned, an older tester stamped and signed the cert, declaring "This is an A". We went away laughing.

Hmm....very interesting

Hi ladies, I'm sorry for not checking in sooner! I have some serious catching up to do I'm sure I've missed plenty of drool worthy jade!

I got my heart pendant in the mail and I'm happy with it. I'm excited to see it in natural light tomorrow.

It's pretty thin, but that makes it lightweight!

Even though I didn't plan it that way, it's a good match for my bangle :)

Here is a picture of it on. It's very difficult to take a flattering picture at this angle!

Very pretty. Matches your bangle perfectly!

My jeweler has a pair of certified apple green bangle. The color is gorgeous...but they are not very translucent...price per bangle is over 15k. She has been slowly marking up her stocks after her trip to HK...so I don't know if she raises up their price tag yet.

It appears that apple green color is always priced higher. Same with lavender. The bangles u described sound beautiful : )

Oh my! Those sound lovely. Any chance she'd let you take a picture of them? What size are they?

What about your HG bangle?

Hi petals, as we speak here, indeed our HG bangles are being processed, carved and polished with color in some factory somewhere out there... ;)

I don't supposed the Holy Grail is meant to be found...but it is iresistibly fun to find the amazing variations that come our way and call to us.

Good luck and Gong Xi Fa Cai to all dear friends and sisters who celebrate the coming of the Year of the Horse.

Ok my jade sisters...sorry that I haven't been around for a while...this thread is so hard to catch up...esp. with all those gorgeous pictures.
Here is a bangle that has been vacationing with me this week. My jeweler wants me to take it home with me ... such a bad temptation..I guess she knows me way too well when it comes to my love for jade. So I have been contemplating if I should keep it or not...

Here a bit of feast for your eyes ladies...

Color (se)
This is the most important factor in the quality of fashioned jadeite. As per standard color nomenclature, jadeite's colors are best described by breaking them down into the three color components: hue (position on the color wheel), saturation (intensity), and tone (lightness or darkness). Color distribution must also be taken into account.

Referred to as "glass" jadeite, this rare pair of bangles (both 53.4 mm in interior diameter, with thicknesses of 9.6 and 9.7 mm) shows extraordinary translucency. These "glass" jade bangles sold for U.S. $116,000 at the November 1999 Christie's Hong Kong auction. Photo courtesy of and © Christie's Hong Kong and Tino Hammid.

this part intresting>>>
A-Jade is jadeite that has not been treated in any way other than cutting and polishing. Surface waxing is generally considered part of the "traditional" finishing process. Used to improve luster and fill surface fractures and pits, wax dipping is the final step in finishing virtually all cut jadeite
A process commonly used to enhance polished jadeite, waxing (or "wax dipping") is actually a simple procedure. First (top left), the bangles are soaked in a warm alkaline solution about 5–10 minutes to clean the residue left behind during polishing. Next they are rinsed, dried, and then soaked in an acidic "plum sauce" to remove any residue from the alkaline solution. Then, they are rinsed, dried, and placed in boiling water for several minutes (top right) to open the "pores" in the jadeite and bring it to the right temperature (to avoid cracking) before it is placed in a pre-melted wax solution for several minutes to several hours (bottom left). After waxing, the items are polished with a clean cloth to reveal their best luster (bottom right). Photos and description by Benjamin So.
