Thanks Tiffins :smile1:

You said it...she looks similar to my other ones...and that's the reason why I that I am thinking that maybe I should give up on this one. Save up more budget and get the HG jade bangle instead..that's if I could find it with a price that I could afford..:sweatdrop::sweatdrop::sweatdrop:

Not that I am a jade expert by any means, and far from it really, but given the large and diverse collection you already have, I would wait for the HG if I were you, and not get one that looks similar. You already have many pairing options (although fraternal!).

What is your HG? Curious given you have many nice pieces already. :)

You must have a really good relationship with your jeweler that s/he trusts you to take home $2800 piece to think about! ;)

Druzy, your bangle is very gorgeous. Very translucent. Where did you get it?

Jadelover, from a huge brand name place in Yunnan China, which shall remained unnamed except those who can read Chinese. Apparently it is a very well known shop that only sell As and trots out government certs. Most of the online reviews say they are indeed Grade A, but i am not sure. I also found an online review by a local Chinese buyer, and his story also gives some insights about this shop and how certs are done in China:

My office organised a trip to Yunnan. Our tour guide said [this shop] sells only grade A. My colleague, whose son was born recently, decided to buy a pendant for RMB5800. Tour guide then brings us to another jade-related place, saying this is the place where all certs are issued. My colleague then showed one of the testers his jade piece. The guy checked using magnifying glasses and put it under lights etc, and then declared "This is a B. I have been a tester for a while, this much I can tell." My colleague was shocked and said, I bought it from [this shop], I thought they sell only Grade A?" The tester was speechless. Another tester near him then came over and said, "Maybe we ask another senior tester for his opinion, maybe we are not as experienced." They then went behind closed curtains to talk, and when they returned, an older tester stamped and signed the cert, declaring "This is an A". We went away laughing.

Yeah, NYCprincess, it was meant to be yours! Jade finds it's owner.

Petals, gosh, I hope they are stone veins. Some can be open and can be felt, but they are not cracks and don't have the same durability problems. I'm sure your jeweler will help figure it out. Maybe you can negotiate way down because of them?

I sincerely hope that you are right Clairejune.... gonna try to go to my other jeweler tomorrow since she is closed on Wed....

Thanks for your input NYC....and i love the "fraternal" terms into the jade pairing...lol

I have been going to her (Anne's) for over 5 years now, and I am glad that she trusts me with her jades too. I hate to feel regret everytime I buy things on impluse. And with thing like this...it's most likely that I would have been stuck with it for good.

Wow you liked it enough to buy it in two widths! Very pretty! Is it purple and green all over?

From lots of the photos from you and Silver Mom, they look almost all purple?
Yeah, Peaches is 21mm width is a fat baby Lol

The color on "Violet" is look all purple mixed very light green on top

The color on "Peaches" is purple and green all over and the color is more stronger than "Violet" in person

My goodness. What a joke. In fact, I don't really believe in the China certificate. I have people telling me that the certificate can be forge easily. I went to this place while on a holiday trip to Yunnan.

Exactly, Jadelover. This is the only bangle I'm unsure of. But it's also my first bangle gifted by the hubby, so I may just choose to live in oblivion! :D Or until I get my butt down to NGI.

Hi ladies, I'm sorry for not checking in sooner! I have some serious catching up to do I'm sure I've missed plenty of drool worthy jade!

I got my heart pendant in the mail and I'm happy with it. I'm excited to see it in natural light tomorrow.

It's pretty thin, but that makes it lightweight!

Even though I didn't plan it that way, it's a good match for my bangle :)

Here is a picture of it on. It's very difficult to take a flattering picture at this angle!
