B-Jade is jadeite that has been soaked in chemical bleaches and/or acids for an extended period to remove brown or yellow impurities from between grain boundaries and cracks. Because this treatment process leaves voids in the jadeite, the bleached jadeite is subsequently impregnated with paraffin wax or, most commonly, a clear polymer resin

Pics below
In some B-jade, such as this bangle bracelet, resin-filled areas can be seen under the microscope in reflected light.

I impulsively picked up this bracelet at the last CNY festival and now I'm worried whether it's real/injected. When I bought it the lady said it's real but it didn't come with papers. Also, I think I read a post saying it may be harmful to you if it's not? Eeks, now I'm paranoid! Where can you go to get it authenticated? Or any help figuring out the quality/etc. I tried looking and comparing it with my phrase jade but looks the same but still unsure. Below is the bangle. Thanks!

B and C grade jade
B, C and B+C appear brighter, clearer and have a rich color like the highest quality Feicui, but it is no longer a legitimate natural stone, it does not have the ability to maintain or increase in value. If you spend hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands on a B, C or B + C grade you are simply wasting money because it is not even worth 100 yuan. In addition, B, C or B+C are not durable; after a short time the polymer and inner structure breakdown, the color fades, and it cracks and breaks easily.

many ways to distinguish A grade from B grade, C grade, and B+C grade.

B grade’s water quality is a little muddled or cloudy, it looks a little like gelatin. If you use a magnifying glass to examine the texture, you will see obvious continuous sheets of small threads left over from the acrid erosion. B grade feels light in your hand. If you hit a B grade bracelet, it will resonate with a dull sounding “thud.”

Another simple distinguishing method is to spend a few yuan to buy a currency detector. Shine the detector’s small ultraviolet light on the Feicui, if you see fluorescent glow, then it is defiantly B or C grade, A grade does not change under the ultraviolet light.

More detailed on this forum page 6..our jade sister Storm Spirit did great post on GRADE A vs GRADE B jade.. tons very informative pics ... http://forum.purseblog.com/the-jewelry-box/qn-on-jade-bangle-754664-6.html

Hi TantaZ, welcome to this thread,
It hard to tell in naked eyes from pics to know weather bangle is GRADE A Or GRADE B
best is to go to ur local jewerler to get GIA certify, or buy UV light from ebey.
GRADE A jade don't change color under the UV light.

Hi ladies, I'm sorry for not checking in sooner! I have some serious catching up to do I'm sure I've missed plenty of drool worthy jade!

I got my heart pendant in the mail and I'm happy with it. I'm excited to see it in natural light tomorrow.

It's pretty thin, but that makes it lightweight!

Even though I didn't plan it that way, it's a good match for my bangle :)

Here is a picture of it on. It's very difficult to take a flattering picture at this angle!

Very pretty and good match with your bangle, congrats for your new lovely pendant

Sofers, what an excellent match to your lavender bangle! The pendant is perfect. Looks fantastic on you!

Petals, your holy grail sounds like a holy grail indeed! What a treasure. Wonder if, as Tiffins once again so poetically said, it's meant to be found!? I love your collection! Truly sumptuous.

Faithgrace, lovely bangles! Yes, it's good to have and bring your loupe with you, so that you don't have to strain your eyes!

Fantaz, Welcome! Your bangle might be a B grade bangle, which is jadeite that has been given an acid bath to remove brownish/greyish colors, and then coated with polymer. A simple test you can do if you don't want to send or take it to a gem testing lab is the dual wave UV light. Sometimes, manicure lights and currency detector lights can work also. If it's a B grade, under either short or long wave UV, it should glow like crazy!
Either way, it's really pretty! My first bangle was a B grade bangle because the sales lady told me it was "natural". There is lots to know about jade and it's easy to believe sales people. This could be the start of your jade education, because there are things you can learn to see in jade which will help prevent buying treated B, C, or B/C jade in the future if you are only wanting untreated jade.
Price is one thing to note. An untreated bangle in that color and evenness would be extremely expensive, like at least 50k, more likely over 100k. Untreated jade in even, highly desirable colors is going to cost a lot of money! Just something to keep in mind.

About detecting B jade:
Beware that B jade bangles can also chime. It's misleading to say that they resound with a dull "thud" because it's not always true. My B grade bangle chimed also, BUT it did not chime for as LONG with as many sound reverberations.

Yeah, NYCprincess, it was meant to be yours! Jade finds it's owner.

Petals, gosh, I hope they are stone veins. Some can be open and can be felt, but they are not cracks and don't have the same durability problems. I'm sure your jeweler will help figure it out. Maybe you can negotiate way down because of them?
How we can tell the different between crack and stone vein? and if just a stone vein and can feel with finger nail is that can be worse after while?

Dynasty, if the stone vein is surface reaching and you can feel it, that doesn't mean that the jade is weak. Stone veins are not stress related the way that cracks are. They were formed while the jade was forming. A crack really looks like a crack, usually whitish and running BETWEEN the individual jadeite crystals. The silica between the crystals is weaker then the crystals themselves, so cracks run in a JAGGED way between them. Stone veins are like seams, or folds where the crystal don't match up in the same way. Usually they are not jagged. Even if you can feel them with your nail, they are not a sign of weakened jade.

Thank you very much that is much helpful, I love jade but don't know anything about jade, so much to learn about it.

First time I bought jade was from ebay three weeks ago and beside the size to small for me also I can see and feel with my finger nail which I'm not sure is a crack or stone vein
