Love your jade bangle, it's very pretty!

I just love this thread! Stumbled across it while researching jadeite bangles and jade research in general. Thank you everyone for your great info and pics...

I ended up buying this one from Ultimate Jadeite on eBay, and received it two days ago. It's just as nice as it is in the photos. I loved dealing with her - Zhen. Very communicative and helpful. I'll definitely do business with her again.

I also picked up this leaf pendant. Love it too!

Will try to post a modeling photo of the bangle (if I can hide my nails. ha).

Petals, It would be terrible for my wallet too if I lived near that store! Gorgeous things at great prices. You are so lucky. Barbie, nice find. It looks like a really unique color and the color seems really contemporary to me. Almost like a new spin on a great classic. Very cool. You all have great photography skills too. I'll take a few more later and outdoors during the day to try to get some better pictures up. The ones I took look nothing like them IRL. Petals, red jade is pretty rare. JOJO had some great red jade leaf pendants recently. It takes a lot of looking, but it is worth it. I have a full deep green bangle with red and yellow that my mom gave me as a wedding present. She got it at an antique store in China, and I've not seen anything like it. Yours is as unique, and old stalk. Maybe the 'old mine' really did produce great stuff in colors too.

Barbie, Wow, gorgeous! Great finds.

have also been really interested in nephrite jade lately, the ancient jade of China. I truly believe in the energetic qualities in jade and Jadeite. The jadeites I own have changed their appearance. The large blue yellow and lavender one which I bought started out just like the vendors picture which I posted earlier. Since I have been wearing it, the colors have become more embodied, almost more stormy. The thinner one gave me a feeling of happiness when I first put it on and has not left me since.

Reminds me of a story I read about a jewelry designer who bought a used bangle from her supplier. She wore it that day and in the evening felt an enormous sense of sadness. She was not used to feeling that way, and could not understand why she felt that way. It definitely was not buyer's remorse. So, she put it away for a while. When she wore it again a month or so later, she felt the same way. She ended up selling it to someone else after deciding that the life energy that this bangle had absorbed from its previous owner was effecting her own energy in a negative way.

Anyway, back to the nephrite, I have heard that nephrite is very powerful, is used by holistic practitioners, and is basically quite remarkable. I found this used one on ebay for a great price for the color. I'll let you all know what it is like when I get it. I plan to wear it on the opposite wrist as my green/yellow/red bangle when I get it back from being re polished. (It is an antique). It will also go with my emerald ring, so that will be a good set. I also bought these beads. They were very cheap and I asked the seller whether they have been dyed and she told me that they have not. Great clarity, and I wonder why they are so cheap, $25! Usually when something is too good to be true, it is. But I was curious and I'll let you know what I think when I get them and run a few tests. My husband is a scientist and he's got lots of equipment. Any other nephrite beauties or lovers out there? Here are the photos...

Clairejune could you please post pictures of your bracelet that changed when you wore it. I have always wondered if they actually did change or not. I would love to see the change in the lavender one. So lovely all you pieces.

I'll try to get better photos up tonight. Thanks for the complement! The before shot would be the vendor picture, which is exactly how it looked IRL during the bright afternoon.

Regarding jadeite changing colors, I've heard that some jade stones are more able to change than others. That it depends on the type of jade, and personal energy. I know there is no scientific explanation for it, but being married to a scientist I can say that science does not explain everything. I've definitely seen it with mine.

Drooling over those nephrite jade..... I have recently fall in love with nephrite too, especially the white color ones. For a good quality of green nephrite like in the picture...it would definitely go over thousands of dollars nowaday though. Good luck and hope you will be getting a grade A item. Please keep us inform :)

I wish there are more places that sell nephrite in my area....but most stores that I buy my jades from don't sell this ... dunno why :(

Petals, nephrite in fine colors is extremely expensive, some more than similar jadeite. I also love the white nephrite. It's so pure, classic and goes with everything. I think people think of nephrite as the dull, ugly green/grey/brown seen in a lot of 1970's jewelry and cheap jewelry. It is amazing how gorgeous it can be.

White nephrite! Totally know what you guys mean; I've always liked creamy white nephrite, especially the ones known as "mutton fat".
