Yes, Prettypeonies, let us know how it turns out. I took a look at the seller's items and they are very pretty. I like that the bangle you bought is such a nice neutral colour. It will go with anything!

Love the clear light lavender on the first!!! And that amazing glow on number 6. I want to find a light green one like in the 6th photo when I go to Taiwan in a couple months!!

Lovely photos! I was at the mall earlier today and came across a tiny store that carries a small selection of Burmese jade bangles. Most of them are the thin rounded type - you know, with round inner rims. Someone was asking before about round inner rims and flat ones.

Anyway, i tried them on and realised that the rounded ones can be easier than the flat ones to put on and off, mainly because they are thinner. So it's easier to ease the bangle over the knuckles of your hand. So you can also probably go one size smaller with the rounded style, like what Storm Spirit mentioned before. Just thought i'd like to share in case anyone is interested or considering between the 2 styles.

I'm considering getting one of the thin rounded bangles. It's a mixture of green and very light lavendar, with bits of yellow at some spots. Hmm....can't decide, but i dont have much self-control when it comes to jewellery, so i'll most probably end up buying it!

I agree, BreadnGem, I also prefer the smaller, rounded bangles - I find them more comfortable and elegant. I think the newer, more modern ones are flattened out for a larger, wider appearance. The rounded ones seem harder to come by these days, and all the antique bangles that I've seen are rounded. When I started buying them in the 90s, I never saw the flattened out ones - maybe because more non-Asian women are buying them now and their hands and wrists are usually not as small and delicate. If you are small boned and always have to have standard sized bracelets shortened (like me :crybaby:), then the round type may be the way to go. Please post pix when you do purchase one.

Haha, i was me asking about the differences between flat and round inner rims. Yeah, i agree. The rounded rims are usually thinner bangles and look more delicate. I bought a flat inner rim bangle to try out .. now i am thinking of getting a round inner rim..

BreadmGem, you should get it, light lavender sounds very pretty. Sometimes, there will be more than 1 bangle that we will fall in love with. Hence, the jade bangle collection grows :yahoo:

It's terribly addictive. What started out as an idle interest in jade bangles has now grown into an obsession :p

A question for you guys - if you are getting a more expensive and good quality bangle, would it be wiser to get a more fitted one even if it would be harder to remove? To reduce the chances of hitting it against things and breaking it? That is the advice i was given. A light lavendar bangle i am considering (slim rounded style) is smaller than what i usually wear. It is 54mm diameter while i usually wear 57mm. 57mm is easier to remove but because i have thin wrists, the bangles do tend to spin around quite a bit. The 54mm is lovely, and fits more snugly, but may be hard to remove. But it's much more expensive and better quality, so i won't want it to break too! Yet I'm worried that it'll become too small if i put on weight in the future.

That's why i'm hesitating. What would you guys advise? To go for it or not? Too bad i dont have any pics of it to post!

The SA said she will put it aside for me till today. I plan to go and try it again later, but i hope i can decide soon!

I would say the smaller the better. You need it to be snug so that it doesnt get bang around. If it is snug, you would probably wear it 24/7, that will make it value for money and you get to enjoy its beauty all the time.

As for weight fluctuations, i think you should be fine. Don't worry about it. At most, it will move up your hand, closer to your wrist where thinnest point is.

If possible, try to go back and take some photos , i am curious :lawl:

Jade bangles are esquisite and beautiful. Most of them gets pass on to the next generation or purely for own viewing collection, or for rotation wearing, I dont think it is a bad thing.. Hey, it is a Purse forum, people tend to have multiple bags or jewellery pieces here..;)

So, did you get the bangle? IMHO, slim, rounded styles rule - comfortable, snug enough to not slosh around yet still provides plenty of wriggle room. And don't worry about breaking it - takes a lot of banging at just the right angle for anything to happen (I know of what I speak). So, if you decided to get the bangle put aside for you, would love to see pix of your new "daughter".

Yes, i bought it in the end. The thing about jade is that if you pass up on one you like, you will never find another one exactly the same, because no two pieces are exactly the same colour, texture, etc. I was afraid that if i miss getting this one, i'll regret it later. Anyway, i'm glad i got it. Somehow, when i first saw it i kinda feel like it is MINE, kwim?

I actually took some pics, but i'm unable to upload them. I keep having this problem. Will try again later.

Trying to upload photos again. Hope it works this time!

The colour is actually slightly more purplish in real life and it looks nicer than in the photos. Somehow the colour comes out lighter in the photos.
