Odd...I got offered another quota bag after my push offer bag....maybe I just got lucky
Prespend isn’t a clear thing in the US. (Not sure where you are.) But if you are a long enough high spending enough client, it’s not unusual to get bags back to back if supply allows. Regardless, a “push” offer bag is the same as any other in terms of effect on a client’s profile/quota limits etc.

That’s just not how a spend profile works. It’s not “prespend” for one bag, it’s overall, sometimes lifetime, spend for anything coveted you may want. You are a valued enough customer to get a couple offers in a row… this is a good thing!

can anyone help me out with this conundrum: l would like to request for a quota box bag (which is a push offer). However, l have no idea how long it will take before l can be offered. Alternatively, l would like a regular quota bag that is available but requires a few months to a year wait time. How can l approach this sensibly? I can wait for the box but if it is longer than a year l would prefer to get the regular quota first. I’m not sure they will allow me to queue for both at the same time. Also, my store strictly enforces a 3month gap between any bag offers.
For context: l am in asia and all bags require prespending.

It may be wise to express your preference for the push offer bag over the regular one, while still being open to either option. This approach is recommended because the availability of push offer items can be unpredictable, and they are often in high demand.

To illustrate, our boutique has only received one boxcalf bag this year, despite our requests for over three years. Therefore, it may be more difficult to secure a push offer bag, but it is worth considering if it aligns with your preferences.

Thank you. Yes l would like to also get a sense of how rare push offers are in your boutiques and who they are usually offered to, as that would help me to manage my expectations

It is difficult to determine the exact number of push offers our boutique receives because they are only communicated to interested clients and many bags qualify as push offers. Therefore, it is not possible to determine their frequency. Push offers are exclusively offered to long-term clients and those who make significant purchases. But I believe that the larger the boutique, the more bags it will be offered.

Express your interest in Box leather when you put down your wish, mention how beautiful a BKC in Box is if they're on display and then wait . My BBK25 was my first QB a year after I started shopping at H, 6 motnhs after I put down my wish. I was open to all kinds of leathers, but when my SA asked what I truly wanted I said Box. My second bag was a C18 in Box leather as well. My SA knows how much I like Box leather and I'm glad he thinks of me. Not many clients are intersted in Box leather so I think you'll havea decent chance getting one.

My understanding is that Hermes corporate specifically avoids sending box leather items to Asia due to its low popularity there and, come to think of it now, I do feel like most reveals we see for it are from western nations. It may be even rarer for you than for other regions so I’d probably simply mention an interest but work toward a regular offer instead, unfortunately.

Thank you for the practical advice

There's a positive and a negative here:
There's more Box calf available, and about to be even more later this year.
BUT, as it's not very popular in Asia, fewer Box items are likely to be sent there.

I would just tell your store that you want the podium bag you are looking for but to please keep an eye out for anything in Box. You don't want all offers to be held until a Box bag shows up - could be a while. But again on the positive side, you're not likely to be up against a huge list of people who want Box.

The other good news is that Hermès loves to sell Box items to folks who love the leather. So anywhere you may be in the world, it's worth asking for Box calf. It's one of the more likely things to receive as a walk-in, again, because the majority of people clamoring for the iconic bags are angling for Togo, Epsom, etc.

Back in June I was offered, and accepted, a Black Box, Sellier Birkin 30. I usually only get to purchase a Birkin or Kelly every few years, not because I'm not offered, but because I don't have the ability to buy more. I had been looking to add to my collection, and was asking for either a Birkin or Kelly in black or dark grey with PHW. In June I was in my local store and got into a conversation with my SA. I brought up my request for a new quota bag. We then got onto the topic of Heritage leathers. I started gushing as to how I loved the sleekness of Box, how it was so timelessly classic, and how I thought that PHW against black Box is so chic and modern. She then asked what I would think of a Sellier Birkin in Box. I told her I thought it would be an absolute dream bag. Two days later I got a call from my SA asking if I could come in because she had something special for me and it was the BBB 30. Curiously, it has a 2022 date stamp, although I got the offer in June 2023. It seems that they were holding it waiting for someone who would really appreciate it. Again, I am by no means a big spender, but I love the brand and have been an Hermès customer for over 40 years. I live in the US in Connecticut, and I don't think spending quotas mean as much here as just showing that you love and appreciate the brand. BTW, Box is way more expensive than other leathers.

She is a DREAM! I loved reading the story about your BBB and so glad that this was saved for you since you appreciate it so much. What a wonderful bag to watch the patina as it ages. A true treasure!

I love this story you shared so much, @CTLover! It embodies so much of H that l appreciate - patience, timelessness, relationship and above all, quality. Your bag is super duper stunning. For me box is the one leather l can literally savour. I will hold out for my Box dream, all other leathers pale in comparison imo.
Edited to add, you may have inspired me to just heck it with the annoying prespends, continue to be a consistent but mindful client, and hope to get my box instore in 10 years’ time. I’m so happy to hear of someone without any FOMO wrt bag quotas!
