Sort of. I’ve reached a point where I don’t need anymore bags for any kind of utilitarian reason. I have nice bags, beater bags, work bags, travel bags, laptop bags, top handle bags, crossbody bags, tote bags, hobo bags, bucket bags, leather and denim. I have vintage and modern pieces, I have contemporary and luxury pieces. I am full up on basic handbags. I don’t need any more neutral or solid color bags, no matter how pretty or nice or luxury another one might be. For example, would I love to have a Hermes Kelly in barenia? Yes, absolutely, holy grail bag. Is it going to do anything for my collection that isn’t already covered by my five or so other classically styled brown top handle bags? No. And I don’t live somewhere where brand names matter to anyone - the fanciest things I’ve ever seen around town are the occasional MMK or Coach bag, and those mostly outlet styles. Unless my collection is somehow lost in some kind of disaster I don’t need to add or replace or upgrade any of it.
There *are* a couple of bags I want because I think they’re truly unique and different, but that’s almost more about collecting a piece of art that happens to be shaped as a bag, more so than expanding my handbag collection. I can’t see myself buying anything else unless it’s really different while also being 1000% my personal style, which is going to be a pretty short list.
