Purse Hooks / Hangers

I got one for Xmas, and for some reason it took me over a month to use it....once I did, I never looked back!! I always get people asking me where I got it and I never put my bag on the floor again!

I saw one in a magazine the other day, that can be worn as a bracelet and you twist it open (into an S shape) when you want to use it as a purse hook.

Hi Tiggy - I think you saw my favorite, it's called The Hookup and I love mine! I actually collect purse hooks and have over 50 of them. I am going to do a write up of all of them soon but the Hookup is definitely my favorite!

A great little accessory... the perfect drop ,and although not folding does not take up too much valuable space in my bag ! IMO the leather trim makes this look chic...and as I seem to carry the world in my "sacks" takes the weight well too !!:D

I just got one for my b-day. My girlfriend didn't know what to buy me so she bought a purse hook and I thought cool until I used it. It's incredible!!!! I don't understand how it works. It has my name on it and look exactly like mou mou's. I can't for the life of me understand how it just stays on the table and holds a six pound bag! It looks like a magnet but it can't be because it was placed on a wooden table.

The purse hook takes up no room and keeps your bag safe next to you and clean! Another great invention!

Cute and you could use it with an evening bag that you couldn't actually carry a hook
in.

Unfortunately I gave the magazine to a friend and now I can't remember where to get it, because after thinking about it I'd like to have one.

They said it would hold up to 45 pounds - does anyone actually carry a 45 pound purse!?

I got my Clipa from www.pursebling.com and I totally love it! My purse doesn't weigh 45 pounds, but I have used it for my laptop bag and purse together and it doesn't even break a sweat :-). And here's something else I love, I hang my purse on the back of the seat in front of me at the movies with my Clipa! You know you can't put your purse on the seat next to you cuz the seat will just fold up, and I sure don't want to put it on the floor in the movie theatre, YIKES!

I have three and sometimes get looked as being bougie and too good to put my bag down. but i could care less. I spend too much money on my handbags for them to get germified and dirty

I've used one for a couple of years. Got it at a Brighton boutique and I love it. Haven't had any negative comments, only positive ones. In fact, several friends have actually gone out and purchased their own purse hooks as a result of seeing how great mine works.

Thanks, Jenny O! I hadn't seen those two brands before! I love that the Hookup is nice and flat and is so decorative!

I do love my original pursehook from pursehook.net so I wasn't really sure that I wanted to buy another product so similar, but when I went back to look at their website recently, I saw that they had posted pictures of the FUMI being used on doors so I just ordered one!

The only time I wasn't able to use my original pursehook was on a very thick bar counter, but apparently you can use the FUMI on those as well.

I'll be sure to let you know once mine arrives and I have a chance to try it out!

This looks great!

I've always been wary of purse hooks, as all the ones I've seen previously have been very flimsy looking and the hooks have been so thin that they looked like they'd probably leave permanent marks on a leather strap... :s

This seems nice and substantial-looking, so, assuming the edges aren't sharp, I think it would be OK.

Unfortunately, I tend to use clutches and bags with very long shoulderstraps, though, so unless the hook came with its own little bag (to put a clutch in [or, I suppose I could bring the dustbag with me?]), or table tops were about five feet high, they wouldn't really work for me. :nogood:
I was trying to figure out how I could use this with my cross body bag and I just realized that I can use the hardware connecting the strap to the bag! It's just a metal ring, but it's perfect, although that means the bag will be hanging at an angle.

chessmont, normally I would automatically buy whichever one holds more weight, but with my old pursehook (made by the same company that makes the FUMI), I hung my purse and heavy winter wool coat without a problem. I'm not sure exactly how much it weighed all together, but I don't think I'll ever have to hang more than that at once. Actually, I hope I am never carrying 45 pounds of stuff at the same time! :graucho:
