Id like to try one, ive seen them around but never actually put one to the test. On the other hand, I'd never eat in a place where the floor was really grimy or dirty - so I dont heve to ever leave my bag on a floor like that. If I was stuck somewhere I couldn't put my bag down, i simply wouldnt - id rather then keep it in my lap!

I have both clipa and the hookup and posted a comparison here: http://forum.purseblog.com/handbags-and-purses/the-hookup-vs-clipa-543398.html

I haven't been using the clipa, to be honest it's just a big piece of metal that looks and feels like a handcuff. I know it's cheaper, but for the money I have paid for my handbags I want something that looked good both on the bag and when I am using it. As for using a purse hook - yes, it's a must. The dirt and germs that are on the floor or in restrooms is really gross and I don't want to bring that with me into my home. Being able to hook my bags up even when there is not a hook like a bathroom door is something I now can't live without.

I agree about the look of the clipa, but I just paid $30 for it so to me that is not cheap. There were some better looking ones that I considered but what helped me make that decision it that the clipa looks to be the only one that may work on most table shapes. That was a concern of mine, getting the one that would work on almost any table thickness or shape and the design of the clipa, I believe, will give me that. I did consider the hookup which does look much better but I didn't choose it for the reason stated.

I have two ring types, Clipa and Hookup. They stay on my strap and I can find them! I can use the Clipa one handed on almost anything, super fast and easy. The hookup takes two hands to open or close it but it is a cute heart. Mostly I use the Clipa cause it's so convenient and matches my LV hardware.

-I have the Clipa and I really like it - it seems it can hold bigger bags than some of the smaller bag hooks. I believe it said it could hold 40 pounds (or am I imagining that?) Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There's nothing weird about trying to keep your nice bag nice. I used to have one of those that go in your purse too but it tore the lining. I have a very nice one now and it doesn't go in my purse, either. It's supposed to go on my purse but it looks so great that I usually wear it on my arm. Instead of getting odd looks I get compliments! I'm attaching a photo of it. It looks like several bracelets but the center one is actually my handbag hanger! http://drop.io/j800ztz
