They're not weird, but I definitely feel that I get some odd looks when using them. I look at my bags as an investment of sorts and I want to take care of them so I don't really care what others might think!

You just have to own it! Show them how cute the design is, and then be proud that you're taking care of your belongings. I bet after awhile you won't be the only one in your group that uses one.

I had never seen a purse hook until I was at Nordstrom! The SA told me what is was and how to use it!!! I bought one and misplaced it!! LOL I found it again but still haven't really used it like I should! I have taken to putting napkins down on a chair before I set my purse down!!! (before, I used to just plop the bag on a chair or even on the flooor!!! (gasp - germs!!!)
I just bought another purse hook at Nordstrom rack as a spare!!!

i don't like to use purse hooks unless i have to..i'd rather place a paper on top of the extra chair..or use a dustbag if i have one handy..because the purse hook reminds me a lot of the hooks coach uses on stands to display their bags and after awhile, esp the rolled handles one, it will sort of "bent" the handle? esp if you carry a lot and i have big bags so i definitely fill em' up!

I carry one in my bag always, and I use it when necessary. They're functional, as long as there is enough sitting room around the table. They are also a conversation starter, because most Ladies don't want to put their bags on the floor, no matter the cost.

Use it, who cares what people think. Your friends were probably secretly wishing that they had one...

I don't think they're weird, the only reason I don't have one yet is because it was going to come in one of those Kangaroo Keeper sets, but the darn things are backordered so I haven't ordered yet.

I have one and don't hesitate to use it. I don't care what others think about it. Last year we were in one of your favorite resturants on the coast and I saw a waiter accidently spill on a handbag slung over the persons chair, He leaked fluid, picking up the plates from the table. You guessed it, it was a Coach. I just felt ill for the gal. Not too long after that I purchased my hook in a little boutique. They have some pretty ones. Mine is very pretty design, sort of and Asian looking flower and the hook completely folds around the disk. It came with a little round drawstring bag for storage in your handbag.

That's the reason I don't use them either. The hooks are too narrow (thin). I cringe everytime I see my bag drooping below it and the handle bending on it. That's why I don't like using the hooks in bathroom stalls and fitting rooms either (although most times, I'm forced to). I'm surprised that not many others are concerned about this, too...I notice and worry about it everytime I have to hang my bag on any type of hook :shocked:
