Luxe Link hooks come with a velvet snap bag to hold the hook. They also have a tiny magnet in the flat round part that holds the hook closed. They are high quality stainless and other quality metals, so they don't look cheap when you use them. They have a nice cut out in the side of the round part so you can use them as a purse charm if you want.

IMO I've spent a ton of money on my bags (all over $1k) so why scrimp on a purse hook to protect them?

I've never had a purse hook make a dent in a bag handle. I suppose it would depend on what your bag handles are made of and how heavy your bag is.

what do u normally put in yr bag. Just a rough idea so i know how much I should put in my bag too

i like the crystals but its $59...... i am still trying to justify for that amt. Other than that, the normal range is consider reasonable.

I bought two of the Luxe Link hooks in colors that match my bags. Like I said above, if I'm spending over $1k on a bag it seemed silly to scrimp on the purse hook.

I have used a purse hook with a Longchamp Le Pliage nylon tote and didn't notice a bend.

I put a TON in my bags, but they don't have handles that would bend. Today the bag I wore (the one in the photo) weighed 8 pounds.

Most of my bags have softer handles like this so bending isn't an issue:

I've been seeing purse hooks in some stores lately. I bought one in Icing by Claire's in the mall, and I have seen them at Macy's. Ulta even had Mytagalongs purse hooks. I guess they're catching on.
My Icing purse hook is a classic style, but I really want a folding one, so I can pop it in my LV Cles.

I use my pursehook all the time. I wouldn't know what to do without it! I have one that folds around itself and has a little "velvet" pouch. The hook is very substantial, can hold my handbag, my husband's cap when he wears one and I can also hang my umbrella on it by the strap all at the same time. I got mine at Greetings and Readings in Hunt Valley Maryland.

I haven't used the FUMI, but I have one of the older pieces from the same website. It's very sturdy and holds a lot of weight, unlike some of the flimsier ones I have seen. The ones at pursehook.net hold up to 25 pounds so at some restaurants, I have hung my purse, my scarf, and my winter coat on it without any problem!

The only thing that would make my purse hook even better is if there were a way to use it on bathroom doors. I hate when I go to the bathroom and the hook on the back of the door is broken!

I received a purse hook as a "favor" at a wedding shower a few years ago. At the time I was not into beautiful bags and I thought "yeah, more stuff to carry around in my purse!" and I threw it into a drawer when I got home.

Last May, after I bought my first Coach purse, my husband and I went to a restaurant and were seated at a 2-person table and there was no extra chair for my purse and no room to set it on the table. No way was I going to put that beautiful baby on the floor so I kept that large bag firmly on my lap during the entire meal! When I went home I dug out the purse hook and I now carry it in my larger bags all the time. I've used it on several occasions.

Just yesterday, I was out to lunch with 3 friends and we were at a 4-person table so I dug out my purse hook. They looked at me oddly but no one said anything. They were all carrying nice purses - including one Coach and one Hobo brand. So I wondered, it is strange to use a purse hook?

No way! If you're strange, then I'm strange too!

I always have one stashed in my bag. I see it as keeping my bag clean and within sight. I also will put my bag on an extra chair, but depending on the restaurant, sometimes they take the chairs for seating elsewhere. Sure, I've gotten some strange looks for using it, but I've also received compliments and questions as to where I got the hook!

My girlfriends make fun of my purse hook all the time but it doesn't stop me from hooking my purse! IMO, purse hooks aren't for "looks" its to protect the bag and I'll do anything to protect my babies. :love:
