Purse Hooks / Hangers

I just got The Hookup - a friend of mine showed me hers while I was visiting her in San Francisco and it is really nice (comes in a great gift box and pouch too). I just got it a couple days ago so I haven't really had a chance to put it to good use but it works way better than the cheap one I have and never used because it was always lost down in the bottom of my bag. It also works over doors like in the bathroom too. You can get them at www.thehookup.com. I think they are pretty new to market because I haven't seen them anywhere before.

Thank you for the info. Works over bathroom doors is great! It's such a pain to use bathrooms when there are no hooks to hang bags.

Cole Haan has some really nice ones available... Unlike the one I purchased years ago, these have a rubber disc on the bottom to keep them from sliding off the table. I think they are going for ~$12.

I just ordered a bunch of cheap ones from eBay. Hope they work. Are any of you concerned about the materials used to make these cheap hooks? I mean, if they are nickel or anything like that, maybe they stain the purse handles? I do not want to try with my better bags...

I'm interested in the Clipa because of the springloaded mechanism. The clip doesn't look like it swivels at the joint but does it do a good job staying over a restroom door ledge?

I just thought of an economical alternative: any hardware or sporting goods store will sell caribiners or s-hooks of all shapes and sizes... a caribiner might do for where you need to hook your bag e.g. on office cabinet handles. You can even outfit some of the thinner ones with clear plastic piping to protect the leather on your bag from denting; that's one reason why I hesitate to use the purse hooks, I don't want dents on my bag handles.

i got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond... It came with a silver and gold holder and it was plain with a rhinestone in the middle for around $10.00. They come in a dark blue velvety pouch and it hold my bags fine. I use it all the time and even gave the gold one to a friend who loved the idea when she saw me using it.:smile1:

here are my COACH purses:

the zoe's and the legacy flap are brass hardware and the hailey is shiny gold. (they baby bonnie wouldn't require a purse hook... but she's brass, too.)

and here are the purse hooks i'm considering: (i had one of the foldaround ones that i used quite often when eating out.... but i lost it and then found these that you wear ON your purse so you can use them in a ladies room when there is no hook... on a cart, in the car... etc! the idea is you keep them on your purse and handy!)

the hookup is heart shaped and comes in silver or shiny gold. i really like that it's heartshaped... so it's cute... however, i guess it would clash with some of my fobs (i.e. the skull and tattoo one)

the clipa is a simple circle but has more options, shiny or brushed gold or silver, hemetite and a new pink for for BC month. this was the one i was leaning toward... simple... my biggest issue... WHICH FINISH????

and i also found this prensus, which look interesting and comes in a small variety of colors.. it's interesting and i could get black... (but it's accented with silver) or one of their other colors available in their store area if you want to see all they have) this one instead of looping on your handle... you use the little leash hook thingy to attach it to your purse.
