Be careful in outdoor spaces, though, where your bag might be grabbed. I've seen it happen in a shopping area in downtown Washington, DC. I know a restaurant with the hook attached under the table secure in front of you. I thought that was a great idea.

I buy mine from the gift shop in my salon, so no help there. If you have any boutiques around your area, you may find some cute ones.

I got mine from Silverhooks.com. It's one of the foldable ones, and has a pretty good weight capacity.

Been in love with mine after my girlfriend turned me onto them. She says that they can hold 40 pounds. I don't know anyone with that heavy of a bag!!!

ITA. I bought a blue dragonfly purse hook there. The hook is in a brass color and it was around $30 when I bought it. It looked gorgeous when it sparkles! It's a bit expensive but very durable and strong (and heavy). I rarely use it though.

I just got The Hookup - a friend of mine showed me hers while I was visiting her in San Francisco and it is really nice (comes in a great gift box and pouch too). I just got it a couple days ago so I haven't really had a chance to put it to good use but it works way better than the cheap one I have and never used because it was always lost down in the bottom of my bag. It also works over doors like in the bathroom too. You can get them at www.thehookup.com. I think they are pretty new to market because I haven't seen them anywhere before.
