These are the ones I have and I LOVE THEM! I was skeptical that they would actually hold my bag with all it's stuff in it, but there do and they are fabulous. I have several, I keep them 'stationed' in my favorite bags!
I have a few of them but find that I don't get as much use out of them. They were thoughtful gifts from my friends who know I love bags but I tend to carry bags that are on the larger size so those little hooks don't help. I think they are a great little invention but I also worry that it makes it so easy for a would-be thief to just snag the bag AND the hook in an instant. I never set my purse down on the floor either- mostly on my lap or on the chair next to me. On top of paranoid-I'm a germaphobe! 
I like the idea of the purse hooks, but I'm too paranoid about my bag being stolen. I wouldn't, for example, use them on the end of the table or booth where anyone walking by could grab it.
Usually I set my bag down on the chair or booth beside me. If DH & I are out with friends & there's no room, I'll usually hold it in my lap (or last resort, set it on top of my feet). I won't sit it down on the ground unless I absolutely have to (which is just about never, lol).

I don't use them and I admit there are times I've put my Chanel down on the floor but I do ensure the area is clean to the eyes! Oh, our local ELLE mag came with a free purse hook recently.
I guess i'll post this here since i didn't find it posted already in another thread...(sorry in advance if i missed it)
Does anyone have any suggestions to offer about purse storage at home? I don't have the biggest closet in the world and right now my bags all live hung up (either in their dust bags or not) on the back of my closet door on various hooks.. but it's gotten pretty out of control and i feel they deserve a better storage system... Ideally something better to replace my vertical system.
Links to good storage systems or pix of what works for you would be greatly appreciated! (keep in mind, closet space is at a minimum)

All this talk about dirty floors is grossing me out. I'm gonna get a purse hook. Did a search and it seems there's a gazillion out there. Does anyone own one and recommend it? I want a sturdy one that will really work. The last thing I want is for the piece to fall and my bag to get all over a yucky floor. So, I guess I want one that can hold a heavy amount (just in case). Thanks for your recs!
I've gotten 3 off of Ebay..they're cute and fairly cheap. I saw Vernilover's Dior one and I almost fainted!
I saw one by Chanel on eBay, but I got mine from sandiek8 on eBay. She's got a terrific assortment of them (her store is called Sandstone Designs)! (Actually, I got 20 of them from her, since all my gfs have be inquiring about mine! They'll be the party favours at my XMas dinner this year!)
There are two kinds, generally: one wraps up into a circle, and that holds about 15 lbs.; the other is a solid hook, and that holds about 20 lbs. (If your purse weighs more than 20 lbs (equivalent to about a 5-6 month old baby), you probably have a more pressing issue to deal with: back problems or overdeveloped biceps!!

More luxury bag makers should offer purse hooks. That would be so cool to get an LV hook for my bag.
