Would you put $8000 on the floor? Or in us Coachies case, $150-700ish?

I read this really interesting article in Macleans magazine yesterday about purse hooks (Macleans of all places!). I've reposted a link so you can all read it...but it got me thinking...

Where do YOU put your purse when you go out? I try with all my might to keep it on a chair next to me, or even on the table next to my arm, but sometimes it's just not feasible and I admit I have been forced to stash my beloved Coach on the floor, more than a few times! I'm SO ordering a purse hook (there are quite a few different websites selling them, but I can't find the ones named in the article. I am from Calgary so maybe I can find a local retailer selling them).

Can you believe in France they have purse stools?! What a fashion forward country!

Here is the article:

I love that purse stool concept - they had them at this super cool restaurant we went to in Cabo once too - it's a great idea! I try to put my bag on the seat beside me - we joke about how we need 4 seats when we go to dinner - one for each of the 3 of us and my bag get's the 4th - the family is used to it by now! I do have some purse hooks and I keep one in whatever bag I'm using at the time just in case. Clutches are tricky because unless they have a strap, you can't use the purse hook so well so sometimes those end up on my lap with my napkin over them.

Yeah, I have a purse hook (or two) and I think I'd better dig it up. I never needed it when I was in school and carrying just a knapsack. Now that I own Coach bags, I better start taking care of them properly.

Thanks for reminding me! :okay:

Take care,

i hate that especially when the ba doesnt have the little feet on the bottom. my hair salon has the purse hooks at all the stations so my bag in never touches the ground the ground in there

I have a purse hook (the kind that folds up into a circle/mirror) and I do use it! It's very compact and doesn't take up much space at all. If there isn't an extra chair or room next to me in the booth, then on the purse hook she goes!

Most people are actually fascinated at it. LOL Some people may scoff (you know they are non-purse lovers) but I don't care! I'd rather have a bag safe and sound than on a dirty floor or worse - stolen!

One thing the article mentioned that I found interesting was that sooo many women don't realize the amount of germs on the floor. So not only is your purse at risk of being stolen, or becoming dirty, but it gets covered with bacteria and then when we go home how many of us place them on our counters! It didn't really occur to me, that my purse could be carrying around loads of germs!

I have a couple (those letter 'S' hooks and one that folds and into a circle) and use them when I eat out and there is no extra space for my bag. I never place my bags on the floor...ever. I got them from Ebay and I am also in Alberta (Edmonton but originally from Calgary)!
